Do anyone know if it is possible to rewire the Aeon i from 120V to 240V?

240v board

Is the 240v board something you can just order from ML?

or do you need to pull the board out and replace the transformer on the circuit?

You order it from ML. You can replace it yourself if you wish. Just be sure to put the wire at the right place on the board :)

Jim Power at Martin Logan is the man to speak to about the voltage replacement board for ML speakers.

why can't you just use an external 240-120v step down transformer?

In a hobby where power cords make an audible difference IMO, a step down can't avoid affecting the sound. Order the correct boards and be happy.

Because with Voltage differences, there are also usually frequency differences. I believe this 60Hz/50Hz difference also creates a problem. Using an inverter as well to re-generate the mains frequency would probably be more trouble than it's worth!

The conversion kit is $200.00, if anyone in the future needs to reference this post.
