Upgraded the player to Oppo 205. Sounds amazing, and 4K is breathtaking. Also hooked up a Roku Premiere for grins, only to discover that it's useless without shelling out for subscriptions--lots of them--so it's probably going to go away.

I'd like to be able to give that a try, but there's an Unfortunate Wall behind the couch that limits rearward movement. Someday I want to yank that wall out of there and replace it with a horizontal span. Someday.

Update on the system: Now using a Celerity HDM-fiber-HDMI extender. Works perfectly.

Upgraded display to LG OLED65E6P. Will upgrade Oppo to 205 as soon as it's released.

Upgraded the Kuro to a Panasonic Viera TC-P65ZT60.

Yes, Oppo's analog to Sony preamp analog. Not a big fan of projectors--they always seem too dim.

The open back wall and second story, and high ceiling, seem to eliminate standing waves. The carpet knocks some resonance out. Which is fortunate, because we don't like the way most room treatments look.

I thought of attaching the cables to the ceiling, and may still do that. It has the advantage of absorbing lateral energy without putting much strain on the speaker or the cable, plus it can prevent tipping backwards as well as forwards. It has the disadvantage of being visible.

Thanks! I thought about securing them to the floor, but it's a nice hardwood floor and drilling holes in it is bad. It's already got spike dimples in it! I'm going to secure them to the studs with massive lag bolts and a strong loop for the cable.
