    Missing Luxman Volume Control Knob

Not sure if it was someone here that bought my used Luxman 590 integrated amplifier, but when I sold it, there was a scratch in the volume control knob, which I promised to replace. After about two years, we both gave up, but lo and behold, an envelope arrived from Japan today with a 590 volume...

TONEAudio is giving away a pair of ML Electromotion ESL's for Christmas...

Thanks for the likes, you guys. We are up above 1400, so getting closer. As for the posting, the magazine is really growing and I'm traveling a lot. I haven't really been posting much of anywhere and on a certain level, don't feel I really have that much to contribute - we put everything...

TONEAudio is giving away a pair of ML Electromotion ESL's for Christmas...

In case you're interested... One lucky person will get a pair of ElectroMotion ESL speakers for Christmas, the same pair that we used for the review earlier this year. They are fully broken in, and in spotless condition. They will carry the full ML warranty from the day you register them...

    Martin Logan At Silverstone 2010

You really are an idiot. I'm tired of you always taking a shot at us. I've had plenty of people listen to my system and tell me it's one of the best they've heard anywhere. But you love to take the shot every chance you get. If that makes you feel better about yourself, carry on. I suspect...

    New Martin Logan Speakers!

As usual Rich, you aren't paying attention... We wrote a pretty critical review of the CLX and insisted that the speaker needed a subwoofer, which no one else in the high end press did. We also said that while the Summit X was a good speaker that it probably wasn't worth the money for a...

    New Martin Logan Speakers!

Here we go again.... ML has a new model, Rich hasn't heard it and he's grumpy about it. Want to talk about a yawn. We'll have the Electromotion before the end of the year and at $2000, I'm hoping its an updated Aerius. that was one of my favorite ML speakers. We'll see, and we'll comment...

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

This is an excellent point. Even if you aren't meticulous about cleaning contacts, even just plugging and unplugging your gear now and then will help.

Joe, you are taking the smart path. That way if it does not make a meaningful difference, you aren't out any $$...

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

And the explanation behind the "technology" in this device is beyond ludicrous on their website. Most vintage tube amplifiers didn't sound great because of a ground plane, many of them sounded good because of the care that went into winding the transformers, the purity of the copper used in...

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

I take it you're the one that makes these little gizmos, and that's why you're so offended?

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

I just ran this past a good friend who has a masters degree in electrical engineering and a PhD in physics and he said this was , "the worst piece of ********" he's run across in a long time. A 4 inch long piece of wire can't act as a "wave guide" at audio frequencies, nor can it have...

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

I've talked to three friends of mine that design audio gear and they've all said this is snake oil, but I've ordered a pair in the interest of investigation.

More phono fun, the Burmester 100

Probably not, as good as it is. If I didn't have the Nagra LB, and the ARC REF 2 it would be a contender though. Nice to have it all on one chassis though! The Burmester has some strengths and so does the ARC. And it would look great on the rack next to my Burmester preamp! :)

Summit X & CLX room size?

If you don't have a large room, you will never be able to make the CLX really sing. And by the time you add a subwoofer or two to the mix (and you really DO need subwoofers with the CLX) the room fills up rather quickly. I'd suggest a pair of Summit X and spend the difference on upgrading your...

More phono fun, the Burmester 100

Sme 10 review all the way back in issue 8... You should be able to get one for 5-6 k easy on the used mkt... The burmester 100 is selling for about $20k....

More phono fun, the Burmester 100

Straight from the mothership in Berlin, this baby arrived on the doorstep today! Two inputs (MM and MC, or can be configured for either combination), and a built in 24bit/192khz analog to digital converter to digitize your vinyl! Review in process...

ML's With Audio Prism Ground Control

Interesting that the Six Moons guy couldn't hear any difference. They are the kings of snake oil tweeks, so now I'm really skeptical. Going to have to get a pair to cut em open and see what's inside. The Transparent and MIT cables use somewhat of an RC network to (according to them) optimize...

    DVD Burner mocking me!

Take it to Walgreens... They do a great job, handle all formats and are cheap! Easy and no hassle. Just a thought.

    Best method to ship CLS?

Since 9/11, you can't ship airfreight anymore as an individual. That used to be a great way to ship stuff across country for a very reasonable fee. Get some freight quotes. FedEx Freight is a little higher than most, but easier to deal with than a traditional freight company, plus they will...
