    What are your listening habits?

Does anyone keep stats on what they listen to? I imagine if you listen through an iPod or a digital system, that data is kept for you. Do you jump from song to song, or do you listen to an entire cd/ album? Do you listen to artist "deeply"? I own just about every CD released by the Dead...

    Anyone into Tube Rolling?

I am looking at a couple of headphone amps - Woo 5 and Cary. People on Head-fi.org who own tubed headphone amps seem to value tube rollling highly. Currently my CJ Act2 uses the Russian supertube, so this is not really an option for 2 channel. Some of these tubes, such as rectifiers seem...

    What Earbud Headphones?

I was at Can Jam, but I did not spend much time comparing these. I drooled over and picked up the Beyer T1's, instead, which are over-ear and semi open. These and Woo 5 amps were best of show for me. What's your price point? Try Shure se 530 or se 420. I also heard Etymotic 4's which have...

Struck by Lightning, What Can Help???

In my experience, the damage caused to amps and preamps is usually less expensive to repair than if the cd player got hit. One has to open things up, of course, to find out what got fried. Good Luck!

Any one hear of a site called What's Best Forum?

The site seems to be moderated by many of the members who were banned from this site. I am not sure if this is due to the summer season or because the site is new, but it does not seem to have a lot of action.

    Too much room treatment?

Amen! Get a bunch of bales of insulation from Lowes or Home Depot. These are similar in effect to the lower priced acoustic panels. Put them in your listening room to cover as many walls and corners as you can. Listen, Remove, Repeat...

    System upgrade questions

I used to run my Ascents with a Bryston 4B ST. Bryston is not the best amp out there for the reasons you mention - analytical, non-musical, over-detailed to some ears. This is magnified with a Bryston preamp. However, the 4B is not your weakest link. In fact, you are probably one of the few...

    First Logan experience

Good luck with Phase 9. Just a warning: Phase 7 is a price for a single set of good cables. But then life is short, isn't it?

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

Hi Angela, I was thinking more in terms of the new/ extra publicity and people trying and returning, which can cause havoc from a production/ returns perspective. Good to hear that you guys have been doing great in the recesssion. Great to see entrepreneurs succeed!

    A new addition

I mean a better upgrade than a second pair of CLX.

Gordon, I guess we are all over-confident in many respects. Just ask a room full of people if they are better than average, and 85-90% raise their hand. Many of the 10-15% that don't are the ones you want to be dealing with. I haven't met either of the "gentlemen" you mention, but the...

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

Angela, Congratulations!!! Be careful what you wish for, though. My understanding is that you guys are a small company and demand could spike. Also, you guys have that postage paid free trial, don't you, that can open things up for possible abuse...

    A new addition

Who's to decide who owns what and how much is too much? By the standard of most of the world, the $1.99 headphone from the local drugstore is overkill. The midrange on those things is too damn good! I thought that class warfare/ political commentary posts were for the off topics section of...

Heard a Quad 57 system and almost s**t in my pants

Amen, Gordon! Ever try hdtracks.com? Only if there are recordings that you like out there in hi res... I heard some hi res recordings on the new Boulder CDP and through the Naim Dac/ iPhone, and the amount of musical information with this format is on another level. Makes me wonder how...

    Dave Bruebeck - Time Out

If you like this album, get your hands on the Brubeck Live from Carnegie Hall. This cd is better musically. Some of the improvisation is insane. The recording is pretty stellar also, considering it is 50 years old.

I think the moral of the story is: don't take on inverstors. Build one product, but make it GREAT. Sell a lot of it and then use the $ to fund other products. Another moral of the story is that no matter who you are, it can still happen to you. No doubt, D'Agostino has a huge following...
