Quick Q: Sunfire Amps...older vs. newer models

Just an update...i have put in the order for a brand new Sunfire TGA-7401 for $3500.02 + tax (total $3788.77) at a local Sunfire dealer...FREE delivery, setup, and supplies. Although i would think that the setup is easy, the guy offered it to me since he was close to my house...hey, he is more...

Quick Q: Sunfire Amps...older vs. newer models

Thanks everyone for your input!! Much appreciated! I am now choosing between Cinema Grand Signature (17" 400x5) vs. TGA-5400. I know that my Denon receiver amp is no match for any Sunfire amps, but it already puts out at least 130 watts...so, i figure to go all out and get max wattage. :D...

Quick Q: Sunfire Amps...older vs. newer models

    One more thing...is 200 watts (at 8 ohms; 400 at 4 ohms) enough for my Vantages...or do i need to get the big daddy 400 @ 8, 800 @ 4??

Quick Q: Sunfire Amps...older vs. newer models

Hey all, I am starting to look at Sunfire amps for my HT system. The newer Sunfire TGAs vs. the older Grand Cinema Signature etc. Is the quality the same as the older units? Thanks in advance.

ML newbie in sudden hot water...

FYI...here is the Pioneer AVR: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/AV-Receivers/EliteReceivers/ci.SC-09TX.Kuro IMHO, i would go with separates if you're spending that much $$$$$.

Does one need a subwoofer for quality bass?

The question is...how important is bass below 40Hz on a music CD?? For movies, i am all for subwoofer...but for music 2-channel CD, how much bass is there encoded in the CD below 40Hz??

    Crossover frequency?

Stereo music = LARGE for the two towers. Movies = 60 Hz for my Vantages (should probably be 80 Hz, but i just want to be different) :D and 80 Hz for my center and surrounds.

Does one need a subwoofer for quality bass?

For me with my Vantages, 2-channel stereo listening does NOT involve my subwoofer. (I set my Vantages to LARGE.) I am in the camp where a subwoofer may introduce low frequency emphasis that is not meant to be there on the original recording. I use my sub when i play multi-channel music and...

    System #242 (Summit X, Stage, Script i)

Remember, if you did the Audyssey setup with the microphone, then your Denon AVR have corrected some (or most) of your balance and frequency issues. Just make sure that you have setup your Denon correctly. The Denon cannot correct for everything, but you may not hear a huge tremendous...

    I hate Martin Logan Speakers!

For me, i just left the forum for a while to cool down. But, then, my brother emailed me a great deal on the Sony PS3 ($399 - $100 gift card at Walmart)...and here we go again, i am back on this forum. I made changes to my room in anticipation of the great sound from Blu-Ray discs! But, i am...

Critical reviews of the Purity speakers

I am driving my Vantages via my receiver (denon 4306). My Vantages sound great...with no signs of stress from my receiver at high volumes. I think that the powered woofer helps relieve some stress on my receiver...as opposed to Vista. You NAD looks like a superior receiver to my Denon...so, i...

System #164 (Vantage, Stage, Vignette, Grotto)

I have reorganized my theater room so that i can now fit my Depth "i" in the front of the room where it belongs. It just fits in there.... :) Next week...i will have PS3 40 GB in the theater room to serve as my DVD/BR player.

Joey, i would consider new Rolex GMT II-c. The "c" is for ceremic bezel which makes it scratch-proof. Thus, the whole face is scratch resistant (sapphire crystal + ceremic bezel). In addition, GMT II-c also has a new hairspring by Rolex that is anti-shock and anti-magnetic, thus ensuring...
