Sam, thank you so much for passing along the info!! Much appreciated. Even before reading your post this evening, i have decided to connect everything to my Panamax. My subwoofer (depth i) and Sunfire amp are connected to the "high-current" outlets, while the others connect to the other...

Connecting to wall outlets...is this right?

Greg, thanks for the input. Well, as noted above, my installer highly recommends the Sunfire to be connected to the wall outlet. Here is my power conditioner specs: http://www.panamax.com/pdf/Datasheets/M5100EX_L548B.pdf Decent power conditioner?? I guess that i can connect my sub (Depth...

Dumb Question about STAGE requiring AC power

hey all, I read that the STAGE center channel requires AC power for charging its ESL panel. Just the other day while reconnecting my equipment, i accidentally disconnected the AC power from the STAGE while my son was watching Toy Story 3. (The STAGE was still connected to my Sunfire amp.)...

Connecting to wall outlets...is this right?

Hey all, I just reconnected the AC cords in my theater room. I have 4 AC wall outlets. My Power Conditioner (Panamax) has 2 "high current" outlets (aka not limiting current output to equipment). (My power conditioner has other outlets on it, but they are not the high current ones.) So, i...

Which HT set up to go with?

I would concentrate on the three front speakers. Your surround speakers do not need to be towers...waste of money. I would get option one...and upgrade later in terms of electronics...that is what I did. Remember, speakers do not go out of date...in fact, I would try to see if you can get a...

What is better? a Top of Line AVR or used separates for Vantage

For me, i went with outboard amp. I like my Denon AVR4306 quite a bit...i just added a Sunfire 7401...and love it. The Denon AVR has a very good pre-amp & processor...so, i have no reason to change it out.

    Amplification Help/Suggestions Please

You probably won't hear much difference unless you go much bigger in amplifier power. Your Receiver now puts out around 100-120 watts/ch (my random guess). To really hear a significant difference, you need at least a high quality amp putting out 200 or higher watts/channel. Ideally, you also...

When will home speaker woofers use neodymium magnets? Wouldn't that save a whole bunch of weight?

Building Home Theater, decided L/R ML Source but what for in-wall surround

My room is similar size to yours. See my signature. Onkyo is OK with your speakers, but not optimal. You should be able to get decent sound from them. I recently bought Sunfire amplifier to optimize my setup...and it does make a difference...more of a difference each time that i listen to...

    Parasound HCA-855A

BTW, my Denon AVR-4306 is dirt cheap on ebay...used though. Otherwise, your 991 is like $840 on ebay (free shipping). Or you can get the AVR-4310ci for $1300 on ebay.

Yup, make sure that it is Audyssey MultEQ XT. Here are a few references if you do choose Denon route: http://www.usa.denon.com/Denon_Audyssey_FAQs.pdf http://idisk.mac.com/mschuetze-Public/AudysseyTipsTricks.pdf The second link is a MUST-HAVE for Audyssey users...and was a BIG factor in...

    Parasound HCA-855A

Be careful with the crossovers. Recently, after reading an excellent Audyssey article, i found out that if you change the crossover LOWER than what Audyssey adjustment recommends, then the correction does not apply to the lower crossover point. That is, if the system crosses at 100Hz and you...
