I went from basic 12ga OFC cables to modest Nordost slimline bi-wire cables and was pleasantly surprised at the difference it made for my classic 9’s…a cable / speaker pairing of sonic love!

A lot depends upon your room, if you have a large enough space and can get the stats out from the from the walls sufficiently then absorption on the front wall may not be completely necessary…but like many, my space constraints put the stats closer to the front and side walls than ideal. You might also try washing the panels if you haven’t tried that. Certainly do that before committing to buying new ones.

Try swapping speakers in the room to see if the “imbalance” follows the speaker.

I went to the Nordost flat wire at a very modest cost and it certainly made a difference over 12 ga OFC wire.

That is my exact configuration, ESL 9 and the Anthem MCA225 mk2, it’s a perfect couple!

Oh they’re a major improvement! Because I can’t get mine more than about 32” face of panel to front wall I’ve put in sound absorption panels behind the stats and OMG what a stunning improvement in clarity, stereo definition and staging!
