So who has the strangest listening chair?

Very cool chair, but I am with Twitch its all about comfort. I used to have a Wassily chair that looked awesome in my listening room, but not the most comfortable for extended listening sessions. My seat now, in the sweet spot of course, is an Ekorn Stressless chair & ottoman. AHHHHHH.

    New speakers!

Those are beautiful!! I always loved the sound of the Watt/puppy combo, but they are a little too revealing for all of my musical tastes.

Do you get what you pay for?

I still think its mostly subjective and what you like is what you like! I had an opportunity to hear the Wilson Maxx set-up by Peter McGrath (sp) in a dedicated listening room and was totally shocked at how unemotional they sounded. When I got home to listen to my Summits, I was much more...

Subwoofer City! Name Those Deep Bass Tracks Now!

Thom Rotella Band-Self titled DMP Track 12-Friends This track opens with a wall shaking synthesizer and about 1 minute in switches to a pyrotechnical electric bass solo using a digital delay that hits you in the gut and resonates there until it switches back to the synthesizer. AWESOME BABY!!

Completely off topic auto finance question

0% financing does not mean zero for the dealer. There are document fees, finance fees, holdback fees, etc. that help compensate the dealer for what they lose in interest fees.

    Buying used hi-end audio gear

I bought my Summits on Audiogon. It turned out they were actually being sold by a dealer as a demo unit so I was able to use a credit card to purchase them which really eased my mind.

    Watch Connoisseur Thread Part 2

A few years ago when Panerai really got hot and became a huge status symbol, a lot of the guys I worked with used their annual bonus to buy them. I run into a lot of doctors that have them as well. My fear would be that I would scratch that huge crystal face as soon as I got it.

    Watch Connoisseur Thread Part 2

Twich, I thought of you the other day when I saw the new Hamilton Railroad watch. As you are probably aware Hamilton pocket watches were used by railroad men to keep the trains on time. As a tip to their heritage they have created a wrist watch to emulate their pocket watches. The face is...

    Watch Connoisseur Thread Part 2

Ditto, that's why I own the watch brands I do, cause I don't see a lot of people wearing them. I totally understand people buying Rolex and Panerai for their resale value, but like fine art I buy it because I like it not for the hope that someone else will like it later.

Oh no are you telling me that I actually have another hobby? Maybe I'm just a hoarder.

    What are your other hobbies?

Ooooh, I did not list watches as one of mine because I thought it was a sickness not a hobby. Here is my meager collection.
