In the XPA-2 price-range, you can look into the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver, or the Sunfire Cinema Grand amplifier. They both are under 17" deep. For the Cinema Grand there is a regular 19" wide, and an Architect's Choice that is 17" wide.

The box is different. Ethos had no port and a passive radiator. I would assume those two changes would net reduced weight...though 10lbs sounds like a lot.

Do they have online streaming? I find that more useful than the rental. It doesn't have all the newest stuff but it really satisfies the impulse watcher. Not to mention you can stream to multiple devices at the same time. Also quality depends on the player. I find my windows 7 media...

@Neil H: Did you adjust their placement independently? Was there much of a difference? Maybe specific room sizes are better suited towards a Prodigy vs Summit, and vice versa.
