Here's the rehillionaire's latest setup... not sure what speakers he plans to mate with these componenets (probably Burmester as well)... but I have to admit I'd love to hear the completed system. OK, I promise not to let anymore elitist 0.001% audiophilia leak into our beloved MLO.

Necro-stud... how are those Ampzillas sounding? Rockin' the abode are they?

    Check this out!

The need to make a symmetrically designed center-CLX (CCLX) because my brain hates asymmetry. No other reason than just for me - and my symmetrically compulsive brain.

I just saw the "What's on your wrist" thread over there... for the love of God. While I'm thoroughly enjoying the classical music thread, some of the other AA threads are effing ridiculous. How many Rolexes can (should) one person own? Definitely tends toward an uber-yacht-club feel over there...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Since recently ordering an Alia Vox disc (Mozart's Requiem), it has prompted me to go back through my collection of other Alia Vox releases (mostly featuring Jordi Savall). I'd forgotten how pristine the SQ is on all these discs - from Bach to Biber to Boccherini and a number of others, they are...

    Bi amping opportunity ASCENTS

Good point Roberto... if by sensitivity you essentially mean gain, then assuming the amps are driven from the same pre-amp outputs, there could be some level mismatch between woofer and panel. There's a good chance they both have the same gain given their kindred relationship, but worth checking...

What music did you just buy?

I was just listening to his Pavane yesterday. Have you heard the Cantique I mentioned?

What music did you just buy?

Funny thing, while I'm not a huge fan of Fauré's requiem (perhaps a bit too tame for my requiem tastes), one of his works, Cantique de Jean Racine, is to this day one of the most beautiful compositions I've ever heard. I must own 5 different versions of it, but I think I prefer the John Rutter...

What music did you just buy?

Wow! ... the Amazon samples gave me goosebumps... I'm a little afraid of full-blown DSD via MLs... but not so afraid I didn't use Amazon Prime to get free two-day shipping :)

What music did you just buy?

OK... just went out to check the mailbox and amongst the nearly infinite flyers, credit card offers, junk catalogs, bills, real-estate brochures, and other wasteful tree-trimmings were hidden these little gems. I'm gonna FLAC the hell out of these - all of them - tonight. :p

Some lines ain't meant t'be crossed ;) ETA: Just read the Mytek DAC review over on hifi-advice. I agree with you. He's a solid reviewer with, apparently, nearly unlimited resources. I'll be visiting his site more often (even his tragic decision to drift away from MLs is not enough to detour...

    Sequel IIs to Ottawa!

Welcome Robin - glad you didn't end up in a small concrete block room at the border :) I too have made long round-trip drives for speaker purchases... furthest (at about 750 miles) was NYC when I picked up my (now long departed) Apogee Duettas.

http://www.audioaficionado.org/ - which runs at a blistering pace, with one of the members clocking in at 25K posts. I like it because their classical music threads are hyper-active. While I've not run into any overtly disrespectful individuals over there, still just doesn't seem like "home"...

Anyone cover their MLs for dust?

It all depends on your environment. I've had reQuests uncovered in my theater for over a decade - they still sound wonderful. I would keep them out of direct sunlight, vacuum them a couple times a year, and try not let too much smoke get to them. It certainly doesn't hurt to cover them...

    ML Virginity...no longer!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I couldn't agree more with the Christmas morning analogy.. almost too exciting for many of us when major new gear first makes it's way into our lives. Good luck on your choice for first listen... when I first got my current speakers, it was Sade for me...
