Your experiences are the same as mine, many years ago. Ignore the closed minded people on other forums (what was it, the Flat Earth society?). And how can something be a placebo effect when you're not expecting any differences, and the results are repeatable?

Is your system still set up as shownin your system thread? If so, I think the first thiing your should try is moving your TT further away form your speakers. Being as cloase as they look in the picture is just *begging* for trouble...

It looks like it, but the removable headshell and no VTF dial suggests a 12" variant of the SME 345. Nice pics, BTW; thanks for the audio porn!

Nice set up! A couple of suggestions (since you asked): 1. Try bringing your speakers a bit further into the room. 2. Your toe-in looks a bit much. Remember, you want the inner third of the panel pointing at you, not the centre.

So use the zoom function of your TV. You get a picture that fills your screen and the rest of us see the whole movie, as the director intended. We're both happy campers! PS 1:2.35 became a standard movie ratio long before 16:9 was invented...

I heard the ARC 610T at this years CES. It does sound great, but sure puts out a lot of heat!
