The Really Tasty Gear Thread - With Pictures!

That they do. An option I will definitely take advantage of if/when I'm in the position to buy one! Actually I'd order them with black handles but order a spare pair of silver ones, ready for eventual resale. Since I'm talking about dream dollars, I'll order a dream Ref Anniversary, a Phono Ref...

Agreed. I still can't quite accept their new "all silver" colour scheme. Silver ARC gear has black handles; everyone knows that!

    Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2011

As a fellow Brit, the expression "bristol exhibitors" makes me smile (think rhyming slang). :-)

Bernard's title text notwithstanding, I did reply saying that it was the Fosgate phono stage!

Looks like the new(ish) Fosgate (of Fozgometer fame) phono stage. It does look like a honey; I'd love to get my hands on one for review!

    Real Traps

Real Traps make a good product--on my list of upgrades for this year is a bunch of their panels. Ethan and co certainly seem to know their acoustics, so I'm sure that whatever advice you receive will be pretty much on the button. Also, at only 1" thick, your current traps won't be doing much...

    CLX odyssey begins.... now!

Sounds to me like a track from Gary Karr's Adagio D’Albinoni. I have it on vinyl and it is a great recording.

    MoFi vinyl...

Not here. What specific titles are you referring to? If I have a copy, I'll check it out.

    Biwire versus high quality jumpers

No recent experience here--but I do have a set of Nordost Norse Jumpers in for review. My Spires are currently bi-wired (with Nordost Frey), so I am very much looking forward to experimenting with the Norse links vs bi-wiring vs normal wiring with the ML-supplied jumpers.

    Difference compared to inexpensive cables?

I pretty much agree with what MPS wrote. Years ago I conducted an experiment and listened to several different speaker cables, including the UK equivalent of Romex. There were definately differences, but as to whether those differences justify their cost is a personal decision, and must be made...

    Videos from ML

I'm inclined towards the former as I like as little crap between me and the music signal, but then I think of the JL subs (at least some of which have built in room correction).
