    Expression 13A rake/placement suggestions

Yep, looks like you're on the right track. As mentioned, break-in, room treatments, trying different toe-in / placement and rake will all make a difference. Think of it a tuning the speakers to your room (which is easier than a new room, I suppose:)). Also, pretty sure you're going to really...

    Expression 13A rake/placement suggestions

I'd suggest moving your (very nice) speakers forward -- away from the wall behind the speakers. Certainly get the speakers ahead of the cabinet below the TV -- at least the panel part of the speakers.

BTW, I think Shawn / Davinci Media carries Bricasti amps, which I understand are excellent. However, I have not had the opportunity to listen to them.

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Update! Actual SNs are: AFM9442274N01 and AFM9442275N01 I had thought the number on the shipping box (that said "Serial Number" was the actual serial. Ron at ML was kind enough to assist. Great suggestion, Robert!

New Member - Hello from Des Moines, Iowa!

Suggest you visit with Mark at Reno Hi-Fi. He is a good guy will answer all your questions and concerns. He was very helpful to me, explaining things to the point that even I understood (mostly). Very happy with the XA160.8 amps and XP-32 Preamp. As a number of folks here have mentioned...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Perhaps I missed it, but one of my 15A Renaissance Serial Numbers is: CBT0223 FE. I think the CB is to designate the 15A, and the latter (FE) may be the code for the finish. Perhaps the 223 is the sequence number of 15A speakers produced during the month of ?).( Don't know about the T or the...

Additional thoughts...Might want to also read some reviews for both Pass and Bricasti. I decided on Pass Class A XA160.8s because I wanted plenty of power (as Mark promised, these amps will drive the 15a speakers "Effortlessly" (asthey most certainly do) Also, I wanted the benefits of SS and...

With apologies...my listening room is 34' x 22' w/9' ceiling. I have not listened to, but have heard pretty nice things about Bricasti, and of course hard to go wrong with Shawn. Would be excellent if you could arrange to audition your primary candidates with your speakers. Also agree with...

I took plenty of time to consider various options and did the appropriate "due diligence" win my quest to acquire the best solution (for me). I was determined to get this right the first time, as a re-do can get expensive fast! Spoke with Mark and Kent at Reno HiFi (about the Pass products) a...

FWIW, I too was quite concerned about the heat output from the Pass XA160.8, but it was not as much as I had feared. Ran with a fan pointed towards them for a couple of months (my paranoia, I guess), then discontinued the practice. These amps do help downstairs in the cooler months, tho.
