    CLX set-up / Toe-in (or out).

Dear Tosh, What are the dimensions of your listening room? Do you have perfect symmetry from a rectangular room with parallel walls, or as a result of careful room treatment?

Very interesting Gary! I look forward to reading more about your experiments with subwoofers!

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

Dear Gary, I have replaced the tubes two or three times over the years. One time a tube blew and melted one of the fuse holders. Luke had the fuse holder replaced with a more robust component. I used to live in Manhattan. I take comfort in knowing that I now live in LA -- an easy drive...

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

Dear Gary, I strongly endorse the big VTLs! I have used VTL MB-750s on my Prodigys for over 15 years. I am considering the Neoliths and I would use the MB-750s on the Neoliths. Feel free to email me if you would like further observations. Good luck in your search!

Do we know in which factory the Neoliths will be assembled?

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

I have had VTL MB-750s for many years and I think they are magic on the electrostatic panels. I will use those amplifiers for the rest of my life, as long as Luke can keep them running. (But, of course, that reflects my personal preference for a sound which veers to the slightly warm side...

    Total System/Room Upgrade

Dear Rich, So how does this story end? Did the room get finished? Did the Summits find their perfect distance from the front wall? Ron

    Hello from Beverly Hills

Dear Dave, Unfortunately the CLXs with subs are too thin and insuffiently impactful for me in the 80 Hz or so to 200 Hz or so frequency range. I look forward to hearing how the Neoliths sound in comparison. The design brief of the Neolith, with a 12" driver operating up to 400 Hz, should...

    Hello from Beverly Hills

In Manhattan, where I am from, for many years I enjoyed Mike Kay's Lyric Hi-Fi. I knew Andy Singer, of Sound By Singer, well too. I bought my original Monoliths from Elliot Fishkin of Innovative Audio. Beverly Hills, itself, has no high-end audio stores. (The retail space rents are...

    Hello from Beverly Hills

I am new to the site, but I am a long-time owner of Martin-Logan speakers. I purchased Martin-Logan Monoliths around 1990, upgrading to the Monolith III and then to the Prodigy. I admire the CLX Art with subwoofers, but I like more visceral impact in the 200 hz to 450 hz range than the...
