I have a jl audio f110 sub which I want to connect to a Marantz AV7005 processor. It looks like both have male XLR connectors. Is Male to Male XLR connection correct?

For a seamless blend for music, the JL Audio F110 is very nice. I would describe the JL Audio subs as very accurate without much overhang. I also have a ML Grotto sub but there really isn't much comparison here as the JL Audio F110 is quite a step up. JMHO. Jim

If price is no object: buy the Summits and don't look back. But you can purchase a used set of Vantages on Audiogon for $2500-3000. The powered bass on Vantages in a small to medium sized room is impressive and quite tuneable also. JMHO Jim

Thanks Chuck, The Marantz AV7005 processor is supposed to be out this month. The dealer in town handles both the AV8003 and the AV7005 processors. I will demo both of these units plus the Integra 80.2 processor. Jim

Thanks for the suggestion. The ARCAM looks to have everything I am looking for but: the ARCAM AV888 even used is too expensive. The lowest used price I found was $5500. The price range I am looking for is $1000 - $2500 new or used for a second system preamp/processor.

I got a chance to demo the new Magnepan 1.7 and IMHO they sound great - way beyond their retail price of $2050.00. I couldn't resist at this price - so I purchased a pair. I won't sell my ML Vantages as I have two rooms set up for music. When I receive them I will give a more detailed opinion. Jim
