Somebody's selling CLS pannels for $35

These panels are junk. I just purchased my CLS speakers from him. He replaced the panels and these are the old ones that are not working properly. I am positive these are from the same person. These were sitting right by his front door on his carpet just like in the picture. I recognize the...

Advices for a sub to pair with my CL's

KrellYourWorld, I am picking up my 1st pair of CLS's this Wednesday and am going to pair them with a single Descent (this is what I have been using with my Quest speakers) I am going to have to run the Sub a little behind and in the corner because of room layout constraints. I will post pic's...

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

Thank you all for helping me make a decision. I am going for the CLS's and will compare my Quests and CLS's before I put the Quests up for sale. Will keep you posted on my experience after the audition.

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

Wow, Interesting dialogue between Nsgarch and jjcarr. My room is approximately 15x18. I will be placing the speakers on the 15ft wide wall with a fireplace between them making the subwoofer placement in the middle not an option. It will have to be placed to the side unfortunately. There is a...

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

Neil, Thanks for the info, your system is great! How big of difference did the stands make. The seller has the stands but wants an additional $300 for them. Is it worth it? I am going to try to run them with my Descent sub at first and see how it goes. Am I correct to assume that all of the...

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

They are the original CLS speakers with brand new panels with "0" hours. Asking price is 2150.00. States the new replacement panels are easier to drive than then the original panels. How much change was done to the crossovers in the II design?

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

I have a chance to go from Quests to CLS II's. I was planning to use the Descent subwoofer with the pair. How much difference is the setup and the sound of the CLS in comparision to the Quests setup. I am planning to power the CLS with a Krell KSA-250 and KBL preamp. Unfortunately the CLS's...

    New panels for Quests

My Krell gear is pretty old also, KSA-250 for an Amp, KBL preamp, Krell KPS20i CD player, I have ripped all of my CD's to a 2 Terrabyte ReadyNas NV and use a Sonos system to feed the digital signal to the processor in my Krell. The panels were about 675.00 for both. Before the change I was also...

    New panels for Quests

I purchased the Quests new and you are right about the date. I think it was sometime in 93. 1st Generation Quests... I still am looking for a used pair of CLS IIz's but they are very hard to come by, so in the meantime I decided to change the panels on my Quests and maybe this will be...

    New panels for Quests

Just replaced the panels on my Quests, worth every penny. What a difference. 30 minutes to change both panels and they were a new speaker. I thought I had totally lost my high frequency hearing. I recommend anyone with older ML to look into replacing the panels.....

New guy, new (old) Descent, new problem

I had the same problem with the hum. It was driving me crazy. Mine was a ground loop hum and unplugging antenna, cable etc still did not remove the hum from my Descent. What did it was the xitel ground loop isolator. I was worried about what it may do to the sound but it is so much better...

    Subwoofer

Murgen, You won't regret it! It is hard to turn the system off and stop listening!

    Subwoofer

I totally agree with happybuyer. I have had my Descent for 3 days only and it is getting better. I first thought it was bass shy and I turned it up and thought it didn't blend with the panels. I have turned it down again today to only level 3 and +1.5 db on the 25hz knob and it blends...

    Quests with Descent Subwoofer

OK, Day 2 and I have got to know the subwoofer much better. Moved it closer to the wall and angled it. Bass got tighter and after playing music all day on it to break it in while I was at work I listened again fresh and it is getting much better. Settled on the 40hz crossover point, +3db on...

    Quests with Descent Subwoofer

Well, I have the sub and hooked it up via the RCA inputs. I am getting a minor hum as soon as I plug the cables into the sub. I am going to try to track it down. Initial listening I am not totally happy with it. I think I will have to play with the position and the controls. It is in a corner...

    Quests with Descent Subwoofer

ok... I decided to pull the trigger and get the Descent under conditions I can return it if it does not meet my expectations. I am going to pick it up today and hopefully it will be worth the $$$.

    Quests with Descent Subwoofer

I am looking to purchase the Descent sub to run with my Quests. Anybody have any experience in how these 2 work together. I have a Krell KBL preamp, Krell KSA-250 and Krell 20i cd player. Thanks!
