    Considering ML Odyssey

I'd like to know what differences there you heard between the Sequel IIs (I have a pair) and the SL3s. I also had Requests and didn't care for them.

    Amplifier recommendation please !

Sorry to change the subject but seeing how you have both Sequel IIs and SL3s what differences do you see in them? I own Sequell IIs and often wondered.

    Which way to go?

If you could truly bipass the interernal amp that would be a great option to have. I can't see why an audiophile who has a high quality amp would want to use an amplified speaker, chances are the stand alone amp they have will blow away the built in amp.

Which audio format would you most like to see new material come out in the future?

I listen to blues and rock music mainly so I just don't see it happening at least in the music I lean towards. But you never know who would of thought vinyl would of made the come back it did.

Which audio format would you most like to see new material come out in the future?

I could only hope that more SACD titles will come out but I think it's a lost cause. I would have to believe Hi Rez downloads to a server is the new frontier.

Original Linn LP12 or new generation table?

The only thing I have to compare it to would be my CD and SACD players. I read how LPs are so superior, in my system that isn't even close to being so which is making me think I may be missing something.

Original Linn LP12 or new generation table?

I have an all original Linn LP12 I bought back in 1978 that has a Formula 4 arm with a Dynavector 10x5 cartridge. My question is would a new generation table like a VPI Scout (that's about the limit I'd want to spend) be a step up, sideways or down?

Speakers You Have Known And Loved...

I had Tannoy Berkleys for 20 years with 15" Dual Concentric drivers. They could get up to Rock concert levels yet be very detailed, no subs were needed with them (I don't think there were such a thing back then anyway) They had foam surrounds that went bad I had them redone locally and they...

    Buying used hi-end audio gear

I have found audiophiles to be remarkably trustworthy and courteous. Not to say that one shouldn't be careful though. Feedback, talking to them and making sure their phone #, email and address all jive. You can also contact someone they've had a deal with before if you have any suspicions.

    Why do ML panels die?

Good question. If it's the coating is washing them such a good idea? My guess is UV light has to be one of the culprits if so why don't people have covers for them for that reason?

    Whats happening to this Forum???

I don't see anything wrong with talking about other interests as long as they are posted in the correct places and threads aren't highjacked. There is only so much that can be said about Martin Logans and 99.9% has been said and can be found in the archives.

    martin logans' decline

The continued support of older products and customer service people like Jim Power makes Martin Logan special. If they choose to start doing things differently the way a lot of people will "deal with it" will be to change brands of speakers.

    Jim Power is RETIRING!

I think most people who have owned Martin Logans for any period of time did know Jim, he was the face of Martin logan to many of us, something you could count on. I can't imagine why Martin logan would want to get rid of him, if it was to save a few thousand dollars a year it was sure a...

    Jim Power is RETIRING!

Hey Jim why don't you and some of your unemployed ex-coworkers make some great ESL speakers "Made in the Heartland" I'll bet you'd have an instant fan base.:D Well whatever you end up doing I wish you well, it's been enlightening and a pleasure talking with you thru the years.

    ML Production moving

I said this before on another thread you could have a biannual order date on panels so runs could be larger and they wouldn't have to worry about having inventory.

    ML Production moving

If you think of it what would the most logical time for them to discontinue the certain replacement panels if they were to..............when they move production up north.
