What took the place of the reQuest, and is the replacement "that" much better?

Directly comparing the reQuests to Odysseys - With any decent recording you will find the Odysseys more transparent and a fair bit more dynamic. The midrange of the Odyssey is purer. While the Odysseys do extend deeper in the bass, I find the reQuest to have a more live sounding punchy bass...

    Tact or RDP digital EQ

Hi Guys, I've had the RDP RDQ 1 here collecting dust for a few years now. It is pretty transparent with the Statements and did really help clean up the sound quite a bit. That said it did add bit of dryness to the sound so I took it out. I thought at first it was due to me reducing a small...

    Music for your ML's

I pondered this question for the last 5 minutes and have come up with nothing. I would need at least 2 or 3 cds. One would definitely be Kendra Shank...then there's Spyro Gyra....and Yo Yo Ma... those are some decent recordings.

    Quest Z vs Aerius i

If your Aeriuses sound more open, throw a much deeper sounding soundstage with "sharper" highs then something is wrong with your Quests, system or both. Not trying to be rude here at all. When I started with the Logans, the Quests were my fronts and the Aeriuses were used for my surrounds and...

    Corner Boom

But it's entertaining :p and in other threads people are slow to reply

    Corner Boom

Kevin, usually there is a concrete slab cast on top of some kind of compacted substrate/aggregate on top of the clay or bedrock. If you were to have a suspended wood floor (built a certain way) over "dirt" with a good space in between that would indeed absorb some bass. Not necessarily so much...

    closest to pass

Is there really such a thing as a zero feedback amp? You mean global feedback?

    Corner Boom

9db is an average. At some bass frequencies it could be more at the listening position. This is especially common at sub 50 hz frequencies when you're dealing with a long room. It is amusing to see that you have recommended sheets of cork to dampen his mids and highs only to make the bass sound...

    closest to pass

Some may disagree but you may be surpised by the Sunfire Cinema Grand. I used to use it for my centers and surrounds and I found it be very very good. It is just not the last word in bass clarity if you drive your center much below 80hz.

    Corner Boom

Your transparent cables are fine. When a speaker is loaded in a corner, regardless of which direction it is firing in, each adjacent wall can produce room gain of approx 3 db (most noticeable in bass frequencies). The overall gain when you add it up will be more than enough to wreck your bass...

    Statement E2x photo?

The ML summit employs a solid billet of aluminum for the stator frame. I am pretty positive I'll be ok. Just a hell of a lot of aluminum...

    Statement E2x photo?

Bonedust, Besides the new EXOS, what is involved in the passive section? Do you have to solder individual components? Cobalt blue rails sounds stunning! I asume you're talking about the wooden trim. Goodluck removing them though. They're a _____. I am also milling the midbass towers rear...

    Statement E2x photo?

Well...one thing's for sure..I ain't paying for the newer system. I think I'll just upgrade the panels and crossovers and look forward to my new room. Also, I got one of the first production statements in flat black so I'm thinking of taking everything down and painting everything that is matte...

    Statement E2x photo?

Well I'm looking into getting the upgrades for the Statement but Bonedust you just stopped me right in my tracks. What kind of overhaul do you refer to of the Statements have you heard about?

System #06 (Statement e2, Theater i, reQuest, Script i, Stylos, Descent)

Double D, This was the first thing I noticed. On Goodwin's Highend website you'll see that in their installation of some Statements that they installed it the very same way. I believe this is partly for aesthetic reasons maybe Bonedust didn't like the idea of the panels rear wave firing...

Martin Logan Summit. Prodigy/Odyssey replacement. EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK!

I think that the decision to go with a solid billet of extruded aluminum as a the stator frame is a fantastic idea. ML is looking more and more expensive, like the Krells and Wilsons and still keeping the prices at the 10k mark. I think this is going to be an incredible product. I don't see how...
