I suspect your brightness issue is more room related then equipment related. My room was extremely bright until I added some panels and traps. Panels will make a bigger difference on the sound then changing an amplifier!

Wow, that is quite the increase; last I heard from Melodie it was $1600 a pair. Might have to locate another good used pair for both the electronics and the panels as this would be cheaper then buying the new panels only.

I run a electronic/active crossover (Pass XVR-1) with my CLS IIz's and a single JL F112 sub. I cross my panels over to my sub at 88Hz using a 24 db roll. The Pass allows 6 db, 12 db, 18 db and 24 db slopes at various frequencies. I run Pass mono's for amps. The crossover has really allowed...

Thanks for the kind words Steve! I'm pretty happy with how the system is sounding and haven't made any changes in 9 months or so.

I'm guessing the amplifiers may have started clipping which would cause the distortion or popping. Did your amplifiers get warm? Was the popping from the panel or woofer? Does Emotiva amps have thermal protection? It would seem though that the monos would produce enough juice for the Vista's...

Genre: Folk Released in 2004 on the Red House label the debut release "40 Days" by The Wailin' Jennys combine beautiful vocals and harmonies with sparse arrangements. This is a solid vocal acoustic disc. The tune "One Voice" really shows off the three different harmonies!

The new Pass gear looks great Steve! I might have to upgrade from my XA60.5's to XA100.5's!!;)
