    System #91 (CLS IIz, Stylos)

lugano, have you ever tested a TNT? I have a Rega Planar 3 with a Grado Sonata cart...I do get a little hum when the LP is almost finished at middle volume. It's the magnet in the spinner motor under the TT that is causing it. What I may need is a diferent cart because a Grado is unprotected...

    System #163 (Vistas, Cinema)

Beautiful, Clean, WAF friendly, and a great place to have a small get together. I am so glad you went with a 2 channel with 5.1 capabilities. The best of both worlds. I always wanted to hear a BAT. Thanks for sharing

    System #171 (Odyssey)

I replaced the standard Rega felt mat with an Extreme Phono None Felt Mat/Standard. The new mat holds a LP in place during playback and I have to stop the turntable before taking the LP off. A little slower starting and stopping LP playback but I think the extra friction and less static from the...

    System #171 (Odyssey)

Cardas internal wires from the Grado Sonta cartridge to an RCA outbox mounted underneath the Rega Planar 3 turntable allows for after market Harmonic Technology Silver Crystal phono interconnects

    System #31 (Quest Z, Theatre, Aerius i)

Great idea with the Aerius rears raised to ear level. Also nice to met another 2 channel lover but with the added enjoyment of the 5.1. Do you ever test out the Odyssey or the new Summit for added bass?

Changing speaker systems,I'm going to miss you all!

Vern, there you are...okay...okay...I bought the Odysseys from Vern and what a difference from my past SL3's. See my system for more information. Both me and Vern (Statman) are part of a small Martin Logan...er...I guess it should be now called a "High End Stereo Club" in the Los Angeles area...

    Speaker Cable Elevators

rampage, I bought some cable lifters mostly to separate from the power cords. Also based on a audio theory: high end stereo needs everything separated. Do I hear a difference, not really, the mono amps and separated panel and bass speaker cables did 99 % of the improvements

Get those Cats off the speakers

by placing a piece of tape across the bass section of your older style Martin Logan. Pictured is my past SL3 speaker which the cats would use the bass section as a starting pad to craw up the panels. My newer Odyssey bass section is slanted so this is not needed. see the varmits: Miss Spy...

    System #124 (Prodigy)

    Bruce, I e-mailed you...by the way...do you have any 180 gram Jazz LP's?

    System #124 (Prodigy)

Got it, thanks. Let me talk to the others and convince my wife to let a few people over...1st let us get past Easter (Pass Over). By the way...if you down load your LP's to CD format 24/96, do you still listen to your record player? I prefer jazz LPs then CD's...something about the LP makes them...

    System #124 (Prodigy)

Bruce, yes for I am looking for a new DAC. I love my Sony XA7-ES, it has a weight that is placed on the CD and the lazer beam moves rather than the CD...I heard it skip only twice and the CD had a cat hair on them...yes I have 2 cats, you got to love them. What I am getting at is that I have an...

    System #124 (Prodigy)

Bruce, we have a small Martin Logan fan club in the Los Angeles area with meetings between the 605 and 15 freeway. We experiment with equipment, spacing, and interconnects while eating pizza. Most are 5.1 systems while I am the only stereo with turntable. If your interested write me an e-mail...

    System #89 (Summit)

Joey, I went to the Martin Loagn web site and looked up the specs. Where is the second woofer...its not in the front, there is only one showing, and its not in the back for I can see the inputs...is it underneath? Also I figure that it has more "Woofage" than the Odyssey because it has it's own...

    System #89 (Summit)

stesom, the Summits are not listed in this forum's time line. I know that Martin Logan has new owners and this is their newest product, but what size does it equal to in the past: Odsseys, Ascents...etc...what type of bass woofer does it have?

    System #47 (CLS)

Wards Web, say I remember this set-up from audio-review from years ago. Didn't you have some sub woofers behind the CL3's? I specially remember the Carver amps and the tape deck. Do you remember writing to a PhiloX or JD3 with a SL3 5.1 HT system in Long Beach?

System #152 (Prodigy, Theater, Ascent, Script, Descent)

Pcar, the new center rack with the Theater speaker looks great and makes your whole system look balance. Did you ever post your zone 2 system?

System #152 (Prodigy, Theater, Ascent, Script, Descent)

Pcar, yes I see it in your list now. I have the Rega Planer 3 with Grado Sonata cart to an Aragon 47K phono pre-amp. I upgraded the turnable with Cardas cart inner wires to an outbox that mounts under the turntable which you can put your own after market cables. Let me know if your interested in...

    System #179 (Summit, Theater, Descent)

kcl, I am with this audio club in southern Calif and if I remember right 1/2 of us separated the 2 main channel speakers with a stereo amp and use either a 3 channel or 5 channel amp for the center and rear speakers. I can write that I first bought my Martin Logan SL3 and hooked them up to a...

    System #179 (Summit, Theater, Descent)

kcl, what can you tell me about the CIAudio VDA-2 DAC? Is it 5 channel or 2 channel? I am guessing that the Sunfire TGA-7400 amp is a 5 channel amp? Have you ever thought of running a normal stereo amp to play the Summits and then a 3 channel amp to run the balance during a movie?
