Weekly is fine, you're not going to hurt them. I personally do them once a month. You can put the tip right on the stator. I vacuum with a dyson flat on the panels and no issues. One thing to keep in mind is to leave the speaker power cables unplugged for a few hours to let the stators discharge...

Assuming you keep them clean, don't have a lot of airborne filth/smoke, etc, you should get 10+ years from them easily. The only thing to keep in mind is to vacuum them on a fairly regular schedule.

The woofer connections are easily accessible by opening the back panel for the front woofer and removing the bottom woofer.

I bought my Summits second hand, so no warranty. They're probably beyond that by a bit, anyway. I am not worried about it, really, since I had planned on replacing the panels, but I would have rather paid $800 from a few months ago than the $2400 from today. lol

My ~5yr old Summits are starting to show some rippling in the corners of the mylar and I doubt that much has changed since my Summit X seemed to be identical.

Sander's stuff is top notch and sounds great - definitely superior to the Summit X as long as you're only doing 2 channel for a single listener and can accept the visual styling.

500w 8 ohm -> 750w 4 ohm. I wonder what they do at 2 and 1 ohm? Might not be a lot of head room there. Of course, to be fair, you'll probably never be using that amount of wattage, even at 1 ohm swings.

The summit is going to yield a far greater improvement. I had Mac amps in and out of my system, but no amp change was on the planet of my move from ascent I to summit.

Personally, I think 3d is too detrimental to the overall PQ and experience of the movie to even consider using it.

My opinion as stated in my other post is that you couldn't reliably pick out either amp in a blind test despite the differences that may exist. Sighted testing means very little.

If the noise floor on any amp is bad enough to be heard from the listening seat, that amp needs to be returned and didn't fit under my pretense of competent amps. For what it is worth, I have had amps from about $500 to about $10k on my system and only 1 had audible noise from my listening...

Frankly, I think that very few people could ever reliably pick out 2 competent amps that are not being pushed beyond their head room capabilities in a blind test. Most amps sound more similar than different when used in their limits and if they don't, they're poorly designed or broken...
