    Summit/hometheater

Agreed. I set mine by measurement and they ended up somewhere in the 80 ballpark.

Is Center channel essential for HT ?

The stereo image will never exist for the entire length of your couch, the physics of it say it won't work. You might make it better, but you won't eliiminate the dialog pull.

Is Center channel essential for HT ?

No center channel only works for 1 person in the room.

Martin logan Stage & Montis owners please step inside.....

It is hard to tell if it is aimed right in the pic. You should be able to draw a straight line from the tweeter to your noise. If it is too high or too low, you will lose most of the midrange.

Make sure it is aimed correctly. The stage has very poor dispersion, so if it is aimed wrong, you won't hear it.

3rd party replacement ends badly more times than not. Go to an Apple Store.

    Paypal vs Bank wire

Don't paypal as a gift - the fees are insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

    Subjective vs. Objective

Data cables and the nature of data transfer is "perfect" unless the cable is broken. If it wasn't, computers and certainly the internet effectively couldn't exist. The data either gets delivered or it doesn't. If it doesn't, something is broken.

Play something bass heavy at higher volume and watch it.

How difficult is it to start a hi end audio store?

Our local Hifi store here thrives and I think that a big piece of it is that they have a massive used inventory that they sell both online and in store for the reasons above.

    Summits turn off/?

If it doesn't go away with no input and the ground lifted at the outlet, something is wrong with the sub.

    Summits turn off/?

If you disconnect the input from your source, does it go away?
  15. H

    Summits turn off/?

Mine do not make any noise when being turned off. Your depth humming is probably a ground loop issue - try to use a ground lift plug going into the wall and see if it goes away. If not, it may be from whatever is feeding the sub.

    Universal Remote

I have used Harmony stuff for a long time and it works fine. Get the RF version... it is worth the premium.

Do any of you collect art?

I am not familiar with him, but googling him shows very little of his stuff for sale except for a lot of posters. It would probably be hard to get your money back. I treat most artists that are not huge names like local no names: I buy it because I like it on the wall somewhere and don't...

Do any of you collect art?

Definitely true. If you could find a price chart of Peter Max over the last 10 years, it would look like a roller coaster. I suspect Peter Lik is going to follow that trend. I like both of them, though.

Should I be concerned about Timbre Matching my Center channel

I don't actually have any real experience with those speakers, but I would bet you'll have some tonal difference. Try it and see. If it is annoying, upgrade it when you can. If the center is close enough, you're going to get the most benefit from a good sub.

    'Coffe & Cars'

The 911 turbo s starts at $180k. That is $110k less money for the z28. haha
