    C-J Premier 350 amp!

It's really not an issue. I just know the 911 will play to brain damage levels and the 350 will go beyond. My Gamut S-9's are a bit more amplifier friendly, so it's a perfect match.

Do you get what you pay for?

CES isn't really set up to demo gear to consumers, it's a business show. The mfrs try to get some semblance of sound, but it's really to talk to their dealers, distributors and the press. In the old days, they didn't let the general public in and it really wasn't meant to be a big hifi shop.

Do you get what you pay for?

Though I'm not a terribly big fan of Wilson, they are a very resolving speaker, just like the CLX and when that's what you're dealing with, the speakers will only reflect the room and what's behind them. And much like an ultra high performance car like a Ferrari, is much more revealing of...

Do you get what you pay for?

It depends on what you bought, how good you've set it up, how good your room is and how good your software is. Even with industry discounts, I've spent a solid six figures on my system and I couldn't be happier. I feel that it's worth every penny, but it's taken a very long time to get to this...

    Most musical media players/servers?

with the amount of data on a Blu Ray disc, isn't it just easier to drop a disc in the tray and press play?

    Most musical media players/servers?

If you don't need a full blown server to handle video and you just want 2 channel, I've been listening to the latest version of Amarra software on a Mac Pro with an RME soundcard (about 1200 bucks and does work on a Mac or PC) While it doesn't have anywhere near the interface of the Sooloos...

    Most musical media players/servers?

State of the art and inexpensive, rarely go hand in hand, especially with a server. Why bother with Blu Ray in a server environment? You'll pay a lot extra for the capability and the extra storage required by storing all of that media will really gobble up the hard drive (and backup space)...

Prima Luna dialogue 2 or Cary audio SLP 80 for summits?

Have used both. Unless you want really soft highs and not much dynamics to speak of ( or you have a small room and listen at low volume) you will ultimately be very disappointed with this combiation. I've heard precious few tube amplifiers that deliver the goods with current ML speakers.

Prima Luna dialogue 2 or Cary audio SLP 80 for summits?

Neither. Get the Dialog monoblocks, they have a 2 ohm tap. That will work much better with the Summits....

    C-J Premier 350 amp!

The only one I've heard has been the Burmester 911 MK.3, but it doesn't have quite as much power as the Premier 350.. But it's a lot more money. The 350 still remains one of my two favorite solid state amplifiers. And for the price the best balance of musicality, resolution and dynamics.

    Good Speaker wire for logans

My main system uses Shunyata Aurora interconnects and Stratos speaker cable. System two is all Cardas clear, System three is all Furutech Reference. And I use Furutech AG-12, Furutech Silver Arrow and AudioQuest LeoPard tonearm cables.

    Good Speaker wire for logans

Also good luck with DH Labs... I think I've got an 8 foot pair of single wire, if anyone wants them, PM. Cheap.

    Calling all Car Guys/Girls

After driving the DBS for a few days, I can't imagine it keeping up with the Ferrari on the track, but definitely more versatile in town. I'm thinking I'd need both!

Experience with Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamp?

The ASR Basis Mini with the power cord you mention is $2500. The other preamps on your list are in the $1500-3000 range, so you haven't really listed a $5000 preamp that is "easily embarrassed" by the Basis. The PS audio phono stage is 1500, the ARC was $3000 new, can be had for 1000 bucks...

Experience with Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamp?

There you go with the hype again. However, the ASR Mini Basis is an excellent little preamp. They've got limited distribution in the US, but if you can find one, it's a great deal new or used. If you do purchase a used one, check with the importer or the factory, they've made a few changes in...

Experience with Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamp?

If you can go around a thousand bucks, I'd suggest a used ARC PH3 or PH3SE (might go closer to 1200). The other one I really like for the money is the Lehmann Black Cube SE, this is about a thousand bucks. Another great phono pre you can probably pick up used for about 8-900 is the JLTI. And...

Experience with Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamp?

fairly thin sound due to the cheapo power supply... Are you looking new or used, what's your budget? It's not bad for the 5-600 retail price, but you won't get a ton of the "tube magic" with this one.
