    New speakers!

Have you heard the REF 300's? They are also great amps and personally, I like both the 300 and 600 because you can bias the tubes individually, not requiring perfectly matched sets. The Wilson's are very efficient and easy to drive, so you have a lot of choices at your disposal... Have fun on...

    New speakers!

You just missed out... Echo Audio here in portland just sold a mint pair for 17,500. Even the REF 600's are very good and you can usually pick up a set for about $8,000. A lot of amplifier for the money!

    Apogee Duetta Signature Rebuild

All the spec sheets I've seen on the 211 tube say it only has a maximum plate dissipation of 70 watts in class AB, and a few designers I've talked to say 50 watts max in single ended class a. So, your figures are probably a little optimistic. But if it works, it works.

    New speakers!

Have Casey find you a nice used CJ Premier 350. That's an amazing combination... The cone dynamics are pretty tough to beat. I know I've been really enjoying my GamuT's....

    1 Amp to Monoblocks-Differences??

I would say so, because there really aren't any mfrs that make the identical amp as a stereo amp and as monoblocks. Usually, when they have the option to stretch out on a pair of chassis, it means upgraded power supplies, etc etc. and that is part of the reason the dedicated monos have more...

    Summit X Woofer Controls

You're increasing or decreasing the speakers output at those frequencies... Unless you have access to some measurement equipment, it will be pretty much "trial and error".

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

Experiencing break in first hand right now. When I decided to purchase the review sample of the ARC REF Phono 2, (which had about 800 hours on the clock when it came in for review...) they insisted on sending me a brand new one. Plugging the new one in side by side and comparing to the one...

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

Meticulously level your turntable if you've got one. I've seen more channel balance and tracking problems as a result of this often overlooked little thing and it will improve the sound a lot. Best of all, it's free!

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

I'm not down with that. Have heard them demoed a number of times, couldn't hear a thing. I would not buy a set....

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

And what qualifies you to make this claim? How many high end audio products have you designed, built and brought successfully to market? If the answer is none, then I don't think this is a train you are qualified to drive either. I've met a lot of people in the high end over the years and...

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

For those of you that need some measurements, the folks at Shunyata have done some pretty exhaustive testing that I think not only goes a long way at proving their case for buying an upgraded power cord, but the science behind upgrading this part of the system, whether you buy their cord or not...

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

Nope, I think the more of a general consensus there is, the more it makes sense...

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

It's really pretty simple, get your hands on a few upgraded power cords, listen to a piece of music that you are very familiar with and if you hear a marked difference, go for it. If you don't hear a meaningful difference (i.e. one you really have to strain to hear, if at all) don't bother. A...

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

Seriously, the last thing I'd upgrade in any system, if you were on a budget is the power cords. While they add a meaningful difference, it is still somewhat subtle and not the biggest bang for the buck. I'd certainly throw much more time and $$ at getting rid of the problems with the room...

    Best method to ship CLS?

I meant shipping revenue. Well as you seem to be quite the knowledgeable person in this matter, I defer to you. I'm sure you ship a lot more expensive hifi around the world than we do. Best of luck on shipping your CLS's... Hope nothing bad happens.

Very best/finest mains cable on the planet?

It's because you don't understand how power works... The power cord isn't the last six feet of wire, connecting to 100 miles of cable, it's the first six feet of cable connecting up to the well which is power. Even the best power cord won't transform your system into something it isn't, but...

    Best method to ship CLS?

Of course they get them to their dealers in cardboard boxes, but they have been meticulously loaded at the factory and are usually sent on pallets with more than one speaker. Also, if a pair doesn't make it to the dealer in one piece, it's ML's problem not yours. I wouldn't be surprised if ML...

    Best method to ship CLS?

With the high cost of freight, and the low chance of getting a freight claim adequately taken care of (and you still don't have a pair of speakers), I'd suggest looking into flying to where the speakers are, and driving back. I've done this with a few fragile items and it ended up being less...
