    Cable choices with your Martin Logans.

    A fellow audiophile and I are both using Anticables Level 6 speaker cables, me with CLXs and him with 13As, replacing Level 5 and before that Level 3 speaker cables.     Point taken but, NO, I did not do any measurements tho' I may ask ML where to do so as a sanity check. The dis/re-assembly PDFs serve as an excellent checklist for all panel and power supply connections which in most cases were plugs and sockets. I actually did all the testing with CLXs...

    Not just proximity to firebox but also heat rising from face of fireplace vertically past the screen. My friend actually put in a mantle to deflect the rising heat.

    Thanks for the offer, Shawn. I now have a service ticket open with M-L and first recommendations were to vacuum the panels (which I had done when issue first came to light) and also to switch mid/treble panels between the two speakers (which I will be doing within next 24-48 hours). Stay tuned!

    FWIW, I know this is a common install but be careful with TV mounted above fireplace. I have a friend who mounted a screen above his fireplace but fires were hot enough to melt the frame of the TV!
