I agree completely that power cords are not filters. I was just offering an alternative. In theory, however, a power line filter should not make a difference to an electrostatic, since it just energizes the speaker. But it does. This is a totally different discussion, of course.

Don't start by spending money on room treatment. Improvise with stuff like blankets, cushions, books, etc., then spend the money after you determine what is needed. I would start by borrowing that Cambridge amp and trying it out at home.

I use a pair of ancient ARC VTM 120 monoblocks (110 watts/ch) to drive my MLs. I'm very pleased with them.
