I had the Eros I's and yeah, the sweet spot is about 3" wide. Plus they just about turn into bug zappers at times. You will definitely find CLS's lacking in low-base compared to the Eros. I preferred my ReQuests to the Eros as they really opened up like the CLS but had decent bass, however...

It's not that I liked the La Scalas more, it's just that the AE3 with SN7 tubes worked better with them. The horns can't be beat for musical impact, and the ALK crossover upgrade made a huge improvement. But at the end of the day they just never had that 'stat magic. James

I use the DH Labs cable. Before I was using a generic RCA, and the DH improved the low end clarity noticably. They are also pretty cheap too (about $100). James
