As I said before, email them. I need not supply you with anything more than that.

can any home receiver power martin logan electrostatic speakers like source

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but it is NOT only about how much power and amplifier can provide. You have to look at the amount of CURRENT the amplifier can provide. I don't care if an amp puts out 1000 watts. If it doesn't have the current to deal with the massive impedance...

A pair of 22 year old SL3's and a lot of Schiit...

As the title says, I'm running a mint pair of SL3's that were built in January of 1998, and they are still performing flawlessly as ever. I've owned them for around 5 years but stopped using them a few years ago because no matter what gear I used or if I bypassed their crossovers and ran them...

    New Impression 11A's

It's not a matter of how many watts a receiver or amp provides as much as it is its ability to provide the current demands that electrostats require. Think of Martin Logan's with their massive impedance swings and low efficiency as a loaded down trailer with 20,000 lbs of cargo on it. Option...

Observed something tonight that has me confused, concerning crossover point of front speakers

The reason you started getting more bass output once you moved the crossover frequency up on the Prodigy is because they are not in proper phase with your subwoofers, so where the two were overlapping down to 40 Hz, they were cancelling each other out. Now at 80 Hz, there's a lot less overlap...

    New Impression 11A's

Some quality integrated amplifiers would be a good choice as well, as a lot of the new ones are pretty stout and are capable of doubling power into a 4 ohm load. Some are safe to 2 ohm transients and offer fair amounts of current delivery.

    Martin Logan Shower Cleaning PDF

It amazes me that as many times as it's been mentioned in this thread about not using detergents and brushes, people still do it despite all of the warnings. Also, has it ever crossed anyone's mind that the improvements you hear after rinsing the panels could simply be the fact that you're...

    Amp Recommendations for ESL 15

Those JC-1's are hard to beat. I would say stay with them and use them on your ESL 15's. You will never be short on power, nor will you ever be short on current.

can any home receiver power martin logan electrostatic speakers like source

I wouldn't trust any receiver with ML's or any electrostat for that matter. Their power supplies are weak compared to any decent stand-alone amplifier, and ESL's need a lot more than just power, they need current and they require an amplifier that can easily cope with demanding impedance swings...

    New Impression 11A's

I completely disagree about using any kind of receiver to power ML's. With weak power supplies and mediocre amplifier sections, you're never going to get the full potential out of the ML's. Keep in mind, I am not talking about power, just sub-par quality of a receiver.

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

Today I decided to play around with the dbx RTA mic and the AutoEQ "Wizard" on the Venu360. Boy am I glad I did! Here's the end results right from the RTA mic, via the iPad and the Venu's display. You can't get much better than that. Darn near ruler flat across the board. Of course, I made a...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

Jonathan, As it sits, I have the woofers in the SL3's inverted via the Venu360. Being inverted, they are in phase with both the panels and sub. I tested them yesterday individually at the crossover point with the panels, and tested them individually with the sub. I haven't tried any other...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

Playing around with REW some more and the settings in the dbx Venu360, I started messing around with the driver alignment, this time including the sub into the mix. After entering my room dimensions, speaker and sub locations as well as my seating location in the "Room Sim" feature of REW, I...

This one is a bit weird once the sub is added... Looks like the sub killed some of the group delay.

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

So after putzing around with REW for a little bit, I realized that I had the wrong mic cal file loaded, so remeasured with the correct "90 degree" mic calibration file. The titles on each graph tells what's going on. What little EQ I was using via the Venu360 is all disabled. Only thing active...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

Playing around with crossover frequency some more, I'm now up around 295 Hz with LR 4th order, woofer gain at unity with the panels, and 0.31ms panel delay. There's still a little bit of bloat from the -48 dB slope used on the woofers, but it still sounds better than at -24 dB overall. I'll play...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

It was your crossover diagram that I followed to figure things out. Without that, I'd probably still be scratching my head staring at it on the floor. I'm glad there's guys like you around that understand this stuff and share your findings. Bypassing the crossovers is simple. Knowing what wires...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

Hi Charlie! I knew I'd like the active bi-amp route as well. Been there before, just not with these speakers. The speakers I had done this with before were a DIY pair designed by yours truly. I had only ever heard them active. These SL3's on the other hand, I've been listening to them for over...

Active Crossovers (Analog and Digital) and Bi-Amping...

My Martin Logan SL3's have dynamics! Something they never had before! In fact, that was the only thing I didn't like about them, was the lack of dynamics. So far, the dbx is just running crossover duty only. The panels are crossed over at 250 Hz with a Linkwitz 48 dB slope, the woofers are...
