Do I Really Need a Sub?

Parasound certainly doesn't make it easy or clear about the true design of those JC-1 amps. That's for sure. When I wrote what I said earlier, I was purely going off of speculation, because that's the only thing I can think of as to why the amps are running hot connected to the subs. As for...

Do I Really Need a Sub?

This is good news and I see how it can work. It makes perfect sense. I kind of thought this style of hookup would work, but didn't want to just assume things and post it without first doing some research. Two more things... 1) Not all subs have a ground lift feature, so didn't want to really...

Removed those trim pieces on either side of the face. I think it looks much better.

Finally using my Dynamo sub after two years!

And you're in Clearwater. I used to live in an old apartment in St Pete a few years back (built in the early 80's). A 2 bed/2 bath 900 sq ft apartment cost us $1450 a month. Moved back to Lakeland 7 years ago, moved into a 3 bed/2 bath 1400 sq ft apartment (built in 2008) and was paying just...

New Member - Exploring ML Possibilities

Those are just normal "box" loudspeakers and would work fine in that area. Any type of planar however, you'll most likely not get good sound there.

Do I Really Need a Sub?

I believe those JC-1's are fully balanced "differential" amps, meaning both positive and negative posts are hot, just that one terminal is 180 degrees out of phase from the other. You can not run them into the sub(s) via the high level inputs. You are essentially grounding out one half of the...

    Running Audyssey when biamping speakers

Well I didn't know if you were running new or old amps. No, it won't hurt anything. I disagree with that statement, as the panels have a more demanding, complex impedance swing than the woofers do, but it doesn't hurt to experiment and try the Marantz on the woofers, Aragon on the panels...

    Running Audyssey when biamping speakers

Personally, I wouldn't do it myself. I would just use the Aragon. BTW, which Aragon? I used to have a 2004 Mk II back in the day on a pair of Maggie MGLR-1's, and that amp just sang away with those speakers. It's one of those amps I kick myself for selling.

CLX going the way of the dodo

Maybe ML is discontinuing the CLX due to the fact it's an all panel design and those panels are not economical to produce. Wasn't that one of the reasons why they put the kibosh on the CLS series as well?

    Running Audyssey when biamping speakers

I would think that the receiver is listening to the front channels as a whole, so it should work out fine. However, if the gain on the Aragon is different than the built-in amp in the receiver, that may cause issues, with the receiver throwing in weird EQ curves to try and compensate for the top...

A good album. Decent music and sounds pretty good too! Lots of dynamics and spaciousness.
