Separate analog and digital systems into the same speakers?

I agree with @Ronni44, this is simplest and cleanest way if your AVR supports pre out. You definitely want to separate out the analog section to get the best sound out of the record player. I had this similar setup, only using a digital not analog source. I ended up using a dedicated pre/pro...

    Montage repairs

It’s fantastic, great for movies and music. I am very particular and this is the first sound bar I have heard where the vocals sounds natural and don’t sound like they are coming from a box. Tonality is also spot on (for me at least) especially with music. Immersion is also good, but best...

    Montage repairs

I have always worried about this. The new MLs are a bit more child proof. They have a metal grill for the woofer and firmer all around. When we moved I ended up separating out systems and put a Sennheiser sound bar in the living room and moved to a specific 2ch systems in another room with a...

    Need Help Deciding (ESL9 / 11A / 13A)

Bigger is always better if you can sit far enough to get the full benefit of the bigger panel. In order to get the full range, you need to be sitting at a decent distance to hear the top as well as bottom portion of the panel. Otherwise you may be missing some of the highs from your seating...

Any good media streamers coming out, or just released lately?

Honestly not trying to create a debate here. There are no absolutes in audio only what people prefer. I have gone from ML Source with a Denon receiver, to 11As paired with different sources and amps, to now Boressen speakers with Vitus amp. My budget started at $2K myself when upgrading the...

Any good media streamers coming out, or just released lately?

If budget is sub-$2K for a steamer the Aurender and Lumin are in a different category. I have used a few different combinations options including Roon. All these options work, it all depends on what level and interface you are looking for and like.

Any good media streamers coming out, or just released lately?

The Lumin U1 Mini fits that exact description. Also, a used Aurender N100H would fall in your budget. I have heard the app controller is fantastic as well.

Any good media streamers coming out, or just released lately?

Have you looked at Lumin? They have both streamers and DAC streamers in different price ranges. Not only do they sound great, they have amazing support.

Looking at integrated amps for esl11a

Great links and explanation! If you like the sound of tubes but want the power of solid state you should check out some of the Vitus amps, if you haven't already. The RI-101 is the first integrated I have heard that comes close to have the naturalness of tube but with the control of solid state.

Looking at integrated amps for esl11a

From my experience with the 11A, the more robust the power supply in your amp the more you will get out of the speaker. I have tried pairing a McIntosh MC452, Luxman 509X, and my latest was a Vitus RI-101. The biggest takeaway was that power rating (watts per channel) isn’t the best way to...

    Impression 11A - Piano Black

Hi Everyone sorry for being MIA, the speakers have been sold.

Cables (oh no, not THIS topic!)

These threads always intrigue me. Ever since I had my Source speakers I noticed a change in the sound when changing cables even when connected to a Denon receiver. If others don’t hear a difference great, save the money. Pretty much all this goes down to a cable transferring analog sound...

    ESL15A Break in

Sounds like a placement issue. Have you toe-in the speakers a little bit? How close are you sitting to the speakers? These have massive panels and if you want to get the full range you need to be hearing top to bottom of the panel. Speakers seem pretty large for the room, as mentioned above...

    New Impression 11A's

I ended up demoing the Vitus RI-101 with the DAC/streamer module and fell in love with it. Very good balance of resolution and naturalness without sounding analytical at all. Instruments realism is absolutely spot on. I thought it paired well with MLs. Cost is fairly high but since it has a...

    New Impression 11A's

Totally agree, sorry for the confusion. I have not come across many receivers that would be able to drive the 11As to their fullest. Maybe NAD, they have focused on clean power and support for sub 4 ohm dips in the past. Most receivers, even high end, will go into protection mode if driven...

    New Impression 11A's

I can’t disagree, sadly the Luxman falls into the “cheaper” category in high end audio. I was in the same boat, I fell into the cost spiral of trying to find the best amp to drive the 11As. These type of integrated/amps are meant for 2ch listening. They can be integrated into a HT but there...

    New Impression 11A's

On the higher end (in no particular order): Gryphon Diablo 300, Vitus RI-101, Luxman 509X. I was driving my old Source speakers with a higher end Denon receiver and it sounded fine. When I plugged in the 11A’s it sounded horrible, flat and thin. Even though they can be driven by receivers it...

    Blown 11A?

Hey guys, just wanted to give an update here. I called ML on this soon after I posted this and they replaced the entire speakers with brand new pair of speakers (awesome customer services). They have worked great, I did experience a coming out of sleep issue which turns out it is a software...

Tilting forward the Renaissance ESL 15A

How close are you sitting to the speakers? From my experience when you sit too close to the speakers you loose some of the higher frequencies since they come from the top portion of the panel. Tilt the speaker too far forward and you lose a bit of the mids/mid-bass.

    speaker wire for summits?

In terms of brands I have had great success with AudioQuest (higher end copper like Oak and even better Thunderbird) and more recently Ansuz paired with ML. With Ansuz I have never heard more neutral and accurate cable without losing naturalness. Though it's best used with a full loom since...
