I have heard them on several occasions. They have some qualities that really set them apart from ANY other speaker. They have a more 'dark' sound than ML, but they have (mid-)bass slam to die for and have HUGE staging. They don't focus as well as ML's, but their imaging is very natural, as well...

Because of the output filtering, class D amps only work optimally in 1 load. When the load decreases (less impedance), the highs are rolled off progressively with it. The only proper class D implementation for these low impedances is Hypex UcD.

Or buy a Lyngdorf TDA 2200 + RoomPerfect and achieve great results as well. Better still: combine a pair of CLS with corner woofers and an extra SDA 2175 amp. Heaven!

Have you compared them? Do you already own a Stage? I will receive mine in about two weeks.

I'd love to see some pics too and please let us know how it integrates with your main speakers (which model do you have?). How is the dispersion? Is there a small or large sweet spot?

I know the Aragons: they have a big and full sound with monster-bass, but they do skimp the little details. For action movies, this might not be that much of a problem though.

It's physics... Look at it this way: because a line source like the MartinLogans only sends out energy in a straight line (not to the floor or ceiling), its sound energy decreases linearly. Because a 'normal' speaker sends out sound in all directions (as a sphere), it's sound energy decreases at...

Also try the 'phase perfect' crossover with the crossover on the sub disabled. Regarding phase: most of the time, the loudest is the best setting, but if it sounds muddy, reduce the gain and/or try the sub at another position. Also, lower the crossover a bit and set it at 60 Hz.

Strange... My Vantage also have an earth, but they do work fine with my Lyngdorf/TacT. Maybe the ground is not connected internally?

I think either a Velodyne or ML sub will absolutely better the REL in all aspects.

I have been using a Lyngdorf SDA 2175 very succesfully with my Vantage speakers. In fact, the Lyngdorf really makes the Vantage sing and has no problems with the load. It saw off a €9000 Chord amplifier in some aspects, like focus and definition.

Which DACs do you have in the Theta? The Xtreme DACs to me are hard to better.

The Graaf can perform much, MUCH better when you swap the factory valves with something else. In stock form, it is pretty dull...

I do not agree. I think it is quite beautiful, just like I found the slender Summit/Vantage more beautiful than the bulky Odyssey/Prodigy... The Theater i is a BRILLIANT center, but I think the Stage is more subtle in design. How they compare sound-wise, I will soon find out, I have one on...
