Indeed... I have found the X-Stats (especially the Vantage, I like the Summit with a bit less toe-in) require even more extreme toe-in than the 'older' series, like Aeon i.

I still think the Stage is better than the Theater i. I currently own the Stage and have owned the Theater i. The Stage however is easier to accomodate and will arguably match better with the new XStat models (Vista, Vantage, Summit).

The Logos would be the best tonal match and better than both the Stage and Cinema. The Theater is the best, with huge dynamics, but might be a worse tonal match.

Mine also hums. The Vantage is not grounded, so I expect a ground loop is not in order. I think it is due to a close proximity of the different components, notably the transformer on the bottom of the speaker. See insides:

I love the Ayre equipment. It just sounds right, not hyped like some US products, designed to impress as much as possible (I won't mention any names... :)).

Listen and decide for yourself is the only answer... Haven't heard them... Both even then, I would urge you to listen for yourself. What I can tell you from reviews is that the stage is very low, because of the low stance of the speakers. Even leaving that aspect untouched, the ML Vantage...

Same here. Has worked in the past for Aeons as well as now with my Vantages.

I also toe in the speakers quite dramatically. I can JUST see the insides of the bass enclosure from the listening position. This works best for me in my room.

I think the graph is clipping in the beginning (at the lower frequencies) and what is the vertical scale?

When going vertical, the imaging becomes better, the sound is more open and more details are heard. This is my opinion, I have not heard negatives with this arrangement, but I must say that the wall behind the speakers is not vertical, but has an angle of about 20 degrees.

How is the rake/tilt angle for your Vantages? I have set them up completely vertical now.

Approximately 8' apart, sitting 9' away, 50" front the front wall. Have the Vantage as well.

I think Jim Powers is right. It mirrors my own experiences.
