    Interesting eBay ad (not mine)

I wonder if it would be feasible for the next gen flagship ESL's to include a built-in timer that tallies cumulative "powered on" hours, like (I believe) some tube amps do? I'm sure it could be a separate circuit (with digital readout) that doesn't impact fidelity. Key point is it would have...

    Interesting eBay ad (not mine)

I wonder if those Rosso Fuoco (gloss red) Neoliths are the same pair from ML's "Truth in Sound" demo tour? Anyways, it's a great price for the silver frame Summits.

    SUMMIT X RATTLE

Firstly, make sure none of the cabinet legs are loose. If not, perhaps some of the bass driver screws have loosened. You can gently touch the down-firing driver to make sure it's not the issue. Also check the front driver with a flashlight, and see if it looks solid. Otherwise, you might...

New Anthem processors and receivers debut!

Wow! Just read about the AKM factory fire (Japan)... AKM Factory Fire Impacts Audio Chip Supplies | Production Expert I wonder if this will impact the production and availability of these new Anthem models?

ML Depth I Subwoofer amplifier board needed

What exactly did ML say? I'm surprised to hear they were of little help.

New Anthem processors and receivers debut!

Not sure. Will need to ask ML for guidance (vs. trial and error with too many permutations).

    System #55 (Expression 13A's)

We have a large 8' x 10' rug in the room, and I run the cables under the rug (taped to the edge of the rug pad). There is a slight bulge, but barely visible, and not enough to trip on. There's a short run of visible cable from my equipment rack to the edge of the rug, but it's right next to...

    System #55 (Expression 13A's)

The new forum software no longer allows edits of old posts, so here's the latest pic of my Family Room system (after some new furniture and paint color). Next upgrade might be the new Anthem MRX 740 receiver, which would allow me to apply ARC Genesis to entire system (including dual subs) as a...

New Anthem processors and receivers debut!

I've been patiently waiting to find a replacement for my 12 y/o Denon 3808 receiver, and looks like it'll be the new Anthem MRX 540 or 740. Details about the new lineup here... Anthem® / Premium Audio Video Receivers & Powered Amplifiers Like their STR separates, the new receivers incorporate...

CLX going the way of the dodo

I suspect they build the CLX (and Neolith) one, or perhaps a few, at a time (upon demand) so they need to "retool" every time they make a run. There are probably only a couple of (higher paid) employees fully skilled in making them, but the volume doesn't support keeping their production going...

    Unable to figure this out.

I have no idea. Is she a soprano who was practicing? 😁

Washing panels without taking them off speakers

Really Roberto? That's news to me! I always assumed BOTH sides of the mylar had the conductive coating, and both front and back perforated stators were charged.

Washing panels without taking them off speakers

Should be easy, except for actually having to flip it!

Washing panels without taking them off speakers

Hah! Perhaps those of us with the later models (those with metal frames) could rig up a system to hold the entire speaker upside down in the shower, so no disassembly required. Who wants to go first? 😁

    Center Channel Help

Also, how far back is your listening position? FYI, I have a 13 year old Motif center channel (not the X version), being driven by a 12 year old Denon 3808, and the clarity is still superb. It sits on top of a cabinet under the wall-mounted TV, so the Motif tweeter is 29 inches off the floor...

Do I Really Need a Sub?

If using two subs, the other option is to run them connected as "dual mono" subs, especially when crossing over @70 Hz or below. That can be easier to dial in with the mains. Unfortunately, the room, main speakers, and sub(s) all interact with one another, so it takes lots of experimentation...

Has anyone ever heard MBL speakers?

I've heard a number of MBL setups over the years (from the most expensive floorstanders, down to the small stand-mounted). Overall, they were very impressive, albeit driven with uber expensive MBL gear. They present a more diffuse soundstage, with crystalline mids and highs, and very musical...

    Resonance (distortion) in ESL 13a

If using ARC for the woofers, temporarily turn it off, and see if that makes a difference. It's possible you're hearing the analog-to-digital-to-analog DSP conversion that is invoked by ARC. After upgrading from the Summits to Expressions (and running ARC), I think I lost a little something in...

Peter Soderberg has left ML...sad news , great guy !

I suspect his leaving is an indication of some reshuffling/consolidation by the new ML/Paradigm/Anthem ownership. Time will tell.
