Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Thanks for your input, your previous input was also valuable. So I appreciate it...! Regarding the tube rolling, yes it was just for the ARC SP16. Standard its pretty good, but with the right tubes in them and the rest of the system in good balance; wow.... then its really a great pre!.... I...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Thanks! That is a good idea indeed! I will try that. I am just curious about what to do to the holes.. maybe put something in there to fill the holes with sort of damping tape... But I dont know much about how an elektrostat works... So I also will learn some of it more. About speakers...

CLS panel repair - buzzing resonance sound.

I just saw this on youtube.... Showering ML panels So its like this? And probably rins off with osmose water right? I believe I read that Brad had a threat about showering panels... I will check it out tomorrow...

CLS panel repair - buzzing resonance sound.

Yeah bravo you! (y):D Thats great to find a working solution that doesnt cost a lot...! It makes me want to try the showering thing. Did you also got more from 40 to 500 hz? Or only more bright in high frequencies? Mine are already (too much!) bright... I have some sub low, but until 500hz...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Yeah that indeed is a big obvious difference! So I guess you can glue the tuning tape back to the stator and then you are done right?

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Yes it indeed seems glued to the stator... I talked to a guy today who had redone his ML speakers with new coat and also new foil. The foil he bought is cheap, and the coating also cheap. But no original stuff, more DIY. He made a table himself so he could stretch the foil and with try and...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

It seems that we both have the same problem, although with Martynka it causes buzzing and with mine it causes (loud spark noise) ticking... probably because of the torn tape touching the foil. I asked the panel guy in Holland, he said he didnt see this darker damping tape that I have before and...

    New old CLS from Poland

Ah okay, thanks! I didnt know that company. But it seems like he knows what he is doing.

    New old CLS from Poland

Is that DIS or something? 1250,- is affordable. I might do the same if I cant make my CLS work right. I know they also do it for the Apogee Ribbon speakers. However its not exactly the same as the ribbons that the Apogee pro installer uses, named Graz. But its a lot cheaper. The purists however...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Leporello, (you) suggested to use another power inlet. This I couldnt easily do at the moment.. But, when listening to the DAP it didnt sound right... wayy to thin.. with no body. I thought maybe its my brandnew wire to the amp thats not broken in yet. But it made me wonder if my CLS didnt...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Ahh okay, so thats causing the spark sounds... I listened to the DAP on Aux and noticed I could play louder before it ticked.. at around 73 dB, which is pretty loud... I am alnost 50 and dont listen real loud anymore... also trying to be easy on the ears to keep em good as long as possible. I...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

The holes in the "tape" which seem to be on the powder coated frame, not on the foils...: One pic is without holes, and the others with holes... Is this real bad?? Both speakers have it...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Thanks a lot for your reply's guys! I really appreciate all the help! I am from the Netherlands btw, and my room is pretty dry. English isnt my language so it could read strange sometimes. And the electrostatic interface and how they work are pretty new to me. The Apogees are more simple with...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Hi Brad, Woww... ARC 610T amps... THATS nice! I can imagine the feeling u had when that happened... The history of the panels is unknown unfortunately... because the previous owner no longer lives.... They look very well maintained but could be old. Also they sound clear and linear from...

Ticking CLS II - lets make it sing!

Thanks Brandon! All input is welcome! The washing makes sense, allthough I am a bit anxcious about it because I have never done that... And also I have read that some mention sound got worse after that... but maybe those are rare cases... idk. I think its a funky thing too that some...
