    New Member, About to Purchase

Might have a look at the Anthem MRX series. Same parent company as ML. They DO sometimes have issues... decent warranty. BUT they are a smallr company than Marantz/Denon, Sony, etc., so they can't throw their weight around when it comes to things like eARC, CEC, and other "standards" out there.

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

That's too bad. While I've had active near-field monitors before, current incarnations are not exciting me (KEF LS50's & 60's amongst them, and I'm a bit of a Kef fan-boy (in addition to being an ML lover!). For the prices some of these new (fandangled) wireless, streaming speakers are...

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

Have you checked that the tweeters are functioning? Have someone cover the horns with a pillow or something while you listen with your eyes closed(!). Could be someone blew the crap outta the tweeters and flipped them...

    Custom ESL using quest panels

@Brandon Hartwick - So, after moving in to the new house, etc., etc., etc. .. how did these turn out?

    New to the forum

Welcome aboard! I too started of with Aerius speakers. Something I am considering (for SL3's and perhaps Aerius) is using an active XO (crossover) and bi-amping. See the thread "How to active bass", authored by @Brandon Hartwick ...

Sound is Lefty, whatever I try... :(:(:(:(

It's the door handle!!! Just kidding... BUT: judging by the hinges, is that a metal door? I'd put a shipping blanket over the whole thing and see if it makes any discernible difference. Remember that 3dB is a doubling in level, so the 2dB is not a trivial amount. I would expect the right...

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

Great looking, indeed! Is that great big coffee can on the right additionally shielded toroidal(s)?

Martin Logan sl3 channel imbalance caused by bad Crossover transformer (t1). Need advice

Probably a suggestion you might not want to consider, but have you considered going with an active crossover and adding a Class D-type amp to drive the low frequency drivers? There are several threads on this forum about it - here's one I like...

    BHK250 with SL3

After the acquisition by Axiom (?), they shut down the Vermont facility, so it has to go back to Canada. It seems they killed the Refurbishment programs, too. Kinda sucks... Asides from great product, the level of service is what kept me going back to Bryston (4B NRB, 4B-ST, 9B-ST, and a...

    BHK250 with SL3

Matter of interest, what are you feeling is the deficiency with the 4B-ST on the SL3's? Until recently that's what I've been using... my amp has started showing error status on power up, and Bryston is (surprisingly) doing a bit of a money-grab to repair. They used to do an entire refurb for...

    Destroying/modifying my Puritys

I'm thinking that you might consider adding an external (little) box on top of your existing enclosures with a ribbon tweeter in there... something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/3256803008310174.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt ... but maybe with a higher-end ribbon/folded tweeter. Or...

    AVR and ML XT F100

Anthem might not be for everyone, tho' with terms in the presentation like "infinitely listenable to", it seems to come in pretty heavily as a positive Some of the points are well-founded: Fan noise: Has been addressed with a firmware update about 10-12 months back. Switching between HDMI Ports...

    Spikes vs. Gaia Isolation Feet

Yeah, I actually started with my 100lb slabs on my SL3s and Aerius... I think it was the SL3s that had 3 spike receptacles for just the reason you mention, @Fidji99.

    AVR and ML XT F100

Hiya. Second time I'm saying this is as many days, but you might look at the Anthem MRX 540 or MRX 740. Anthem is a sister company to ML, and the ARC ("Anthem Room Correction") is actually from them. The MRX receivers feature the complete ARC capabilities, and would help with your "irregular"...

Adding an 'Odyssey Khartago' Power Amp

@leifsundstrup - Hi! I assume you're only looking at a 2-channel (music) system? If not, I might suggest looking at a decent "1-box-stop", with something like an Anthem MRX 540 or 740. Anthem is a sister company of ML, and incorporate the more full-featured versions of ARC that ML uses on the...

    Spikes vs. Gaia Isolation Feet

I am sure some of our members can get into the "finite element analysis" that might apply here, but: For a concrete floor, I would use spikes and drive them through the carpet/pad to the slab. Same for equipment rack feet, etc. Reason is, you will not get (audibly) noticeable resonances in a...

    Tubes or Solid State

"On their way out" might mean the panels require washing (yeah, "washing"... there is a dedicated thread to it here, and mentioned all over the place), or, worst case, replacement. Before considering that, do you know if your Quest panels have already been replaced? You can look up the serial...

    Amp question Ss or tube?

The subject line is a terribly subjective call... some folks love the sound of tubes, some don't. What IS pretty well established here is that the Sanders Magtech (even MORE so than the "ESL" amp) is ideally suited to driving ESLs, and it is unlikely you will find another amp that is more...

Solid State Power Amp for Impression 11A speakers

I did some searching a while back to find out more about the Devialet amps. Seems they might not be the best fit for low-imedence swings from the ESLs. @Klaus Andersen - have you used them with ML ESLs? Maybe things have changed in the last year or two?
