    DAC Do or Don't?

I think you are likely to hear considerable improvement from a good standalone DAC. Now for the bad news... and I'm sure I'll be labeled the devil for writing / believing this. Cables matter. If you were in So Cal, I'd be bringing over my cables and several DACs to your house so you could try...

    Anyone with recent Lampizator experience?

Thanks Ronin. The team at Lampizator North America have been quite helpful and explained how any returns would be processed if I want to repair, update or upgrade the unit. I'm moving forward with it under the assumption it won't need frequent shipments to Poland...

    Anyone with recent Lampizator experience?

I'm strongly considering a Lampizator Atlantic 3 TRP DAC. I'm curious if anyone on this forum has relatively recent experience with Lampizator DACs. The key changes on the Atlantic were released Q3 2022, so earlier than that might be useful to hear about too, but the more recent the better...

Recommendations for ESL showroom in the Los Angeles, CA area

I ordered a set of 15As earlier this year, before the price increase. I really wasn't planning to get them, but after my brother passed away in July it struck me that life is too short. Every day, I'm simply blown away by how wonderful they are. If they fit your budget, I'm certain you won't...

Welcome! That sounds like a fantastic system you’ve set up.

IsoAcoustics GAIA II Isolators, My Take

I’m using them on my 210s. I believe one of the standard parts included by Isoacoustics took care of it. Pretty sure I’ve only ordered special studs for my speaker installations.

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

So, how is the scissors-snip sound??? Edited to add: congrats on the new update!

    Speaker Cable Questions

Are you saying you can’t pull the plug at the back of your speaker? That sure seems like it should be easy, as these speakers are usually a couple feet off the wall. Assuming you can unplug them, the risk of removing the speaker cables with the external amp off is nil. If the amp is on...

    Iconoclast cables

There’s a surprising amount of energy in even just the spoken voice. I can understand why the scissor snip was so difficult! Edited to add: I think the dynamics and ease of those dynamics is what stands out most to me in their (Iconoclast's) products. Edited again: new tangent. This isn't...

    Iconoclast cables

I was using Blue Jeans Cables Belden speaker wire before the iconoclast, and it sounds completely different. This is a long shot, but are you in Southern California? My speaker cables are broken in and 15’ long… They prefer to build 10’ trial cables, but they may be willing to do 15’ if you...

    Iconoclast cables

On the speaker cable matter, I tested the Series 1 TPC and SPTPC. They're both great value at their price points, but I strongly preferred the SPTPC in my system. I'll go off on a tangent for a moment. Listen to someone talking - a real person, not a recording - in your listening room. Note...

    Iconoclast cables

I did. I using their XLR series 2 interconnects in my main and office systems, as well as their series 2 speakers cables in the main system. They loan for testing, and I suggest demoing them for yourself. What is your system and which cables are you considering?

    Square Room with Electrostatics

First, I'm not the guy who you *really* want answering. We have some truly amazing contributors here who understand complex HT systems and, in particular, best practices for excellent subwoofer integration, and I'm certainly not one of 'em. That disclaimer aside, I don't think I would want to...

Sold Martin Logan Esl C-34A NIB

For anyone curious, I speak from personal experience: this is a *fantastic* center speaker. Someone's going to get a great deal if they pull the trigger. I was using mine paired with a very old pair of Aerius speakers (which I repaneled in 2020), and now they're with the 15As that arrived a...

Age old question from a newcomer!

The good news is with 11As your woofers are already powered. You don’t need high power from an amp, just one that is good at 2 ohms. Ideally, you want one that doubles power from 8 ohms down to 4 ohms and specifically is stable for 2 ohms. If I were in your shoes right now, I’d look for a...

    Howdy from San Diego

Welcome! I’m sure I’m not the only person who would love to hear about your work at Magnepan. I have a lot of respect for their products. I’m using them for my surround and rear channels.

    Expression 13A rake/placement suggestions

Hopefully @andrew.hendler will check in and update us on his (now broken-in) speaker placement and integration with the Pass Int 60.

Small Hiss sound from EM ESLs

Perhaps some other "9" owners can give their speakers an up-close listen and share their results. My 15As don't produce any kind of hiss, and I made sure they were on, powered up from playing, then paused everything to listen for it.

Small Hiss sound from EM ESLs

I'm guessing it's not "normal." I will have to put my ear right next to my panels on my new speakers, but I'm pretty sure they're silent and my old Aerius were dead quiet. Edit: confirmed - dead quiet. So properly functioning "newer" speakers should be silent.

    ESL 9 hissing and levels

I think I'd move #3 to #1. Let us know what happens.
