    ML News tease

The Masterpiece line is going strong and isn't getting changed out any time soon, per Martin Logan's people that were at the Audio Advice Live Show. They had a really sweet ESL theater system setup with dual BF subwoofers. and the mighty Neoliths rocking as well.

    Esl x vs esl

Absolutely agree. There is such a thing as too much speaker in a room. Especially when it comes to dipole speakers that need to be off the wall a few feet. The 11s are fine for my 15ftx19ftX10ft bonus room and I suspect the 13s would be comfortable there too, but budget always has a big say in...

    Esl x vs esl

Every time you go up in the ESL range, it just keeps getting better. The bigger the panel, the more effortless and dynamic the music sounds. Not to mention going up in woofer size, quality and cabinet area. I have ESL 11s and I absolutely love them vs the 9s, but when I demo the ESL 13s and 15s...

    ABC...audio, bourbon, cigar

I love a little Makers or Four Roses with some great music and Cambridge Edge/Impression ESL 11s combo. I Turn the lights completely off and just enjoy it as Miles, Louis, Etta, and Aretha come to life right in front of me.

A Sincere From My Heart Question Regarding the Future of ML ESL

I don't think ESLs are going away anytime soon for ML. It was the tech that the company was founded on and It is still the lifeblood of the brand. The fact that they aren't spending as much on marketing the Electrostatic line most likely has way more to do with the new dynamic architectural and...

    Just Wondering....

Congrats on the speakers! I have been running my ESL 11s with the Cambridge Edge A integrated amp. 100X2 into 8hm and it doubles into 4ohm, which is the sign of a really beefy amp IMO. My Edge A has a wonderful sound to it with a warmer mid and treble. Not quite "Tube" warm, but very sweet and...

    Caught in the Wild

Well, they come with their own unique challanges that make them less attractive to companies. A) Companies would have to retool their factories to make electrostatic panels. You can't get these panels from third-party driver manufacturers like pearless, ScanSpeak or SB Acoustics. B) the Panels...

    Caught in the Wild

Yep. Martin Logan actually has that pair from Friends at their HQ in Lawrence.

    2023 Axpona

Depending on the time of year, there are several really good audio shows going on in different parts of the country. Keep in mind that not every hotel wants the hassle of putting on a big audio show. That means taking beds out of guest rooms and having to deal with all the equipment showing up...

    2023 Axpona

Can't make Axpona, but I will be at the Audio Advice Live show in Raleigh in August and the Capital Audiofest outside of DC in November.

    So I Bought XT F200s

It all depends on what level you want to go to. Do the Masterpiece electrostats do things that the Motion series can't do? Absolutely, but at a higher price and at a much larger footprint. I love the sound of the F200s and F100s, but I still prefer my ESL 11As when it comes to soundstaging...

    So I Bought XT F200s

I got a chance to listen to the new F100s and the new F200s at Audio Advice in Raleigh, NC. Both were really good. Clean treble, articulate mids and very balanced top to bottom. I really think the new line is a big step up from the previous generation which could get a bit aggressive in the...

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

Paradigm JC5 power amp would be a great option if you like a cooler, neutral sound. Martin Logan often pairs their $90k Flagship Neoliths with the JC1+ monoblocks at audio shows. Another amp to consider would be the McIntosh MC462 power amp if you like a bit warmer sound. Both amps will have...

    EM-ESL upgrade to ESL-Classic 9’s

If you are sitting about 4 feet or closer to the rear wall. I recommend using some 2" thick absorbing panels. If you sit over 4ft from the wall behind you, then you can get away with diffusion instead.

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

I think it is a huge waste to neuter a pair of esl 13As by rolling them off at 80hz. Personally, I'd run them down to 40hz or even lower and let the outboard subs handle just the infrabass below 35hz.

    Are 13a's dipole?

Force Forward is a really useful technology and I get excellent panel/woofer integration from my 11As. IMO, having ARC room correction for the amplified woofers is a game changer. At least it was in my listening room.

    New Speaker Day

I have pair myself. They are wonderful speakers. I just listened to Phil Collins' Face Value album along with Santana Abraxas last night. Don't let anyone tell you that Martin Logan ESLs can't play rock.
