    Unable to figure this out.

One reason that lightbulbs can explode is linked f to a fault in the manufacturing if there is not enough insulation at the base of the bulb. This causes the base to melt, and the gas in the light bulb will leak out. When that happens the pressure difference could make the light bulb explode...

Do I Really Need a Sub?

Ok, that might make sense to me. Bu in that case the bass management in Dirac is not indispensable, but it'll require some time to get it right.

Do I Really Need a Sub?

How do you avoid the time factor? The bass from the rear hits you like 10 mS before the same bass hits you from the front? At least this was my issue.

Do I Really Need a Sub?

Front and back even worse. You get the sound from the rear somewhat sooner than from the fronts and if you cannot set the distance to the subs individually and as such the room correction if your room is not perfect.

Do I Really Need a Sub?

This ultimately depends on the capabilities of the subwoofers in question. If they only have a phase switch (0* or 180*), then I would agree. However, if they have in addition to that phase switch a constantly variable phase control knob such as that on my JL subs (0* to 270*), then having the...

Do I Really Need a Sub?

If your amp is not supporting bass management (for the individual subs) I think you need to have a symmetric setup not to end up with unwanted bass issues

Do I Really Need a Sub?

I think room correction only will make the speaker sound the best in the given room. And a sub is must for films.

Do I Really Need a Sub?

I'd say that there is a difference between music and movies in this respect. Whilst movies will benefit from subs music may not at least not to that extent. Since I need films I'm in need of a sub. And that gives me the opportunity to chose if the sub should be engaged when listening to music

    New Impression 11A's

You are right but note this is at 0.05% THD. The figures I mentioned are at 0.02% THD. I must admit that I cannot find where I got the 110 WPC at 0.02% THD and that seems to be to big a difference - and frankly speaking I don't think many would be able to tell the difference - the loudspeakers...

    System #538 (Renaissance ESL 15A)

But is it not an issue that the blankets are white? I'd think it would add quite some ambient light.

    New Impression 11A's

When I upgraded from the, btw 8ohm only, Arcam AVR 600 rated at 110w to the Arcam AVR 850 rated 120w8ohm/200w in 4 ohm the sound from the onboard DAC is quite adequate even compared to my Stax running on the Stax SRD-M50 headset amplifier, meaning I prefer the Arcam. Just for those unfamiliar...

    Amp Recommendations for ESL 15

I agree loudspeakers has the biggest impact, but I noticed replacing my Arcam 300 to the 600 improved the sound to "double" as good, even before tweaking, and from that to the 850 it improved notably but not as much. Upgrade every time mainly due to HDMI standards or rather the reason for these...

Room correction software, which is best?

This is MLs version included in the Subs and the master Series :)

Room correction software, which is best?

Oh one thing more. If you have several subs then you should opt for the extended version at least if the subs are not symmetrically around the listening position

    receiver/surround sound

I had for years mine driven by an AVR latest Arcam AVR850, but last year I got a P429 which I bridged and uses for the fronts for the time being. I might use it for the center and hights and return to bi-amp the fronts from the AVR. Both to me give the same sonic results in my ears, just the...

Room correction software, which is best?

I thought RoomPerfect (possible #1) was only for Lyngdorf. Dirac (the full version) seems to be the better choice across brands. It made my room response much better all across the room, not just around the sofa for which it is optimised.

    Laser Printers....Thoughts ??

Agree that wired is always the preferable choice when possible. But I have the same amount of issues the printer wired or not. Since the low bandwidth required and where it's located I prefer this wireless.

    Laser Printers....Thoughts ??

Hmm my experience is WiFi have no more issues than hardwired having used both ever since the pc became popular. Just much more convenient. But still it does not feature the membrane of an ELS 😁

    Power Cords for M/L 13a B212 Make a difference ?

I guess when you convince yourself there is a difference, weather you can hear it or not, then the pleasure having such power cord is just what counts. My ears do not hear any difference - maybe the power I receive has less bumps maybe my ears should be improved. From the more tech. Point of...
