Thanks gary and timm, Interesting you mention the odyssey's those can occasionally be had around £500 more than the SL3 value and over £1k less than the prodigies? Would the odysseys be almost as good a step up. PS Prodigies as rears!!! I am sooooo jealous.

Can i ask the question slightly differently. Are the panels on the newer mid range or smaller models altogether better than both the SL3 gen1 and Prodigy gen2 panels?

I am sure you are right but was given similar advice on the SL3 moving up from the Aerius i and that worked wonderfully well. Do you think having a virtual nearfield configuration mitigates the room constraint?

Been looking lovingly at a used pair of Prodigy's recently. They are over 2x more expensive than the used value of my SL3's. The room is 5.5m x 2.8m and I'd be using a sub too with logans placed at narrow end of room as far into the room as i need. Would be an almost nearfield triangle...

thanks peter, will steer clear of summit x panels (its just that they seemed a bargain and a possible upgrade !) my SL3's panels are actually in great condition and have a good few years left on them

Thanks Tosh Is the summit height the only difference - I saw some Summit X panels for sale and just wondered if they could work ?

Are there any other Logan panels that could be retro-fitted to SL3's ? I was guessing Ascent and Ascent i might work, anything else from newer models ?

distance from rear wall is easily most critical in my experience and my room you need space behind for sure but there is a small sweetspot and you can easily move too far away from rear wall a few inches make all the difference in either direction so take the time to experiment
