Have Theos Speakers, looking for Center channel

I use a Matinee with my Theos and they match perfectly. Go with the Focus. You will not regret it in the long run.

    Got the Subwoofer bug...

Well, I am not sure about that. When I watch an action movie with the 210, it digs very deep. And this is where it sets itself apart from the rest of the herd. The special effects fill and empty the room at a lightning speed which does not muddy up the dialogue. I must say it is...

    Got the Subwoofer bug...

Buy a Balance Force and never look back. I have a 210 - lighting fast, accurate and punchy deserving to sit next to your Ethos.

    SACD Player Recomendations

Dave, I clicked on the link and took a peek at the back panel. There are no multi-channel analogue outputs. Moreover, it does not play DVD-Audio format. These two were very important for me. You may not care about these two features. Let us know what you end up with.

    SACD Player Recomendations

Hi Dave, I have a CXU from Cambridge and I love it. It is a universal player with emphasis on the audio side. It spins my DVD-Audios and SACDs in a very sweet way. It has got that Great British Sound as the sticker on the unit indicates! Several professional reviewers prefer Cambridge over...

    Martin Logan and Pass Labs

No, the cross-overing is handled by my receiver. I am using the preouts from the receiver to power up the front and centre speakers. I hope this clarifies. As far as the amp is concerned, I will definitely take my time. Those Pass amps are sure not cheap - for me anyway.

    Martin Logan and Pass Labs

Thanks for your reply and advice. Unfortunately, the cross over is fixed at 80 Hz. I have used the PBK to set up the 210 and as such, it has been optimized for the room. The bass in very tight and lighting-fast - just the way I like it. The woofer in the Theos is only 8 inches and IMHO is...

    Martin Logan and Pass Labs

Hi BigGuy, The XA150, is that a typo? Did you mean to say X150? At any rate, I will be buying a Pass amp soon. I got my eyes set on either 150.8 (class A/B) or XA 30.8 (class A). The speakers are Theos backed up by a 210 subwoofer crossed over at 80 HZ. Obviously, XA 30.8 will sound...

    Martin Logan and Pass Labs

Welcome aboard Haakon. I have researched the marriage of ML and Pass in depth as I will be buying a PASS amp in the future. Just about all owners are very happy with the result. As Dave has mentioned, you want to go with their class A/B amp as they double down into 4 ohms and can withstand...

Hello I am Conrad from HAITI

Welcome Johhnyconrad. If your username is any indication, you have an expensive taste in audio. Conrad Johnson amps are fantastic. All kidding aside, I have been using an Adcom amp (hoping to upgrade to a PASS LABS soon) to much satisfaction. It is safe operating at 2 ohms and you can get...

Confessing to not cleaning my ELS panels

I am going on a limb here and say that my Theos are always covered by the factory cloth. I only remove the covers when I want to listen very critically. Believe me, with the covers on, they still sound very good for casual listening/TV and movies.

    new member here!

Welcome from a fellow Theos owner to another. You may be a bit late to the party, but you come loaded. The Theos will love to be driven by the Bryston. Please let us know how they will sound. I will be upgrading my amp soon and trying to gather ideas before I pull the trigger. Although I...

Perhaps, a little trip to France or Germany is in order for you to go and demo the X.

Try to look for closeout deals on Theos. I have them and they are fantastic. If that is not possible, as Roberto has indicated, go with a pair of ESL X.

Welcome Cantodea. Those are some good-looking speakers. Take your better-half to the dealer and convince her on buying the Theos instead. They are not much bigger than Electromotions. You will be glad you did so.

New Balance Force 210 is in the house!

Guilty as charged. There were two reasons. I wanted the sub to really be broken in and I just could not find the right time. Luckily, I am not moving the sub anywhere in the house. So one set of measurements did the trick. I agree, assembly and disassembly of the kit took longer than the...

New Balance Force 210 is in the house!

So after four months of break-in period, I figured I better set up the PBK. I must admit, I was looking to improving the bass quality marginally. But boy, I was wrong! The quality of the bass has been increased in leaps and bonds. Long gone is the slight boom that I had. Instead, the bass...

Advice Wanted on Possible Upgrade to Dynamo 700W

Congrats on the upgrade. I believe you should save up for now and not upgrade to the 700. Yes, you will hear a lower grunt and more undistorted decibels. However, the quality of the bass will remain roughly the same.
