Post AXPONA: You still love your ML system?

Was the Alta model the Celesta FMR 2?

RIP Mark Hollis of Talk Talk.

Hi Tom, Very sad. I have two of the three cd's you mentionned. Incredible, powerful music. Hope you are well. Gordon

Luxman Monos M700u or M900u with MLs

I believe Luxman definitely has a "house sound" that being full bodied, dense, and expansive with no hint of glare. If you want "toppy", shop elsewhere.

    The DON / redux

Big surprise folks. Federal deficit increases by 17% per CNN. I thought one of the big selling points on the recently passed tax reform bill was that, in addition to job creation, it would decrease the deficit. But I'm getting old. Maybe my memory is failing. ;)

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

Thanks for understanding Brad. This thread was about the very topic you raise. Don't know if we succeeded or not but kudos to everyone that tried.

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

I was referring to the statement by Brad and others like Senator Graham and, of course, our dear president. No offense intended Brad. And I'm not implying that the Judge should be guilty until proven innocent. The process (classic Washington sausage making) has been completed and it is...

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

Dave, Not revealing sexual assault until many years after the event is not atypical or unusual. If you research this "delay time reporting" issue, you may change your view. Here's one article. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/18/us/kavanaugh-christine-blasey-ford.html Also, remember Bill...

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

Did anyone of you watch all of the testimony? I did and by all accounts, including DT and Reps on the Committee, she was a very credible witness. Did something happen to Dr. Ford? Again unanimity on this question that something did. Was Kavanaugh present? We will never definitively know the...

    Janszen speakers

Anyone heard these? How do they compare with ML's? Any comments appreciated. Gordon

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

Mark, I agree that this will further encourage females and independents to show up and vote. If nothing else happens, this will be positive outcome of this event and hopefully result in the Dems taking over the majority in either the House, Senate, or both. This was like the Anita Hill /...

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

It's clear that he has already made up his mind my friend. I kinda liked him before but I've lost any respect I had as a result of his recent conduct.

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

For anyone who is interested in this. Jeff Flake changed his mind and voted conditionally to approve the Judge. Good news: There will be an FBI investigation into Dr. Ford's allegations. Bad news: This only occurred because the Reps did not have the votes to approve the Judge's nomination.

Dr. Ford v Judge Cavanaugh; Who

Well amigos, here's my take after watching the vast majority of the hearing. Both parties gave very compelling testimony. I don't know what is true or not true. The Dems have been asking for a FBI investigation that would investigate the allegations that, per one senator, would take a week...

gave the more compelling testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee? I will watch the remainder tonight so I will provide my opinion tomorrow. Gordon

Increasing Martin Logan sweet spot with Synergistic Research HFT's

Mark, I'm just taking you at your word. Dave, many folks use the supplied power cord with no questions asked. Many AV receivers have PC's like the one shown. I thinks that is the point of the video. If you and Mark think it is a ruse, so be it. Gordon

Brad, Here's one on the SR Etron square wave test. https://youtu.be/CXwRTzJZ7Y0 Gordon PS: In addition to reviews that I read, this and other SR videos convinced me to go with SR wire throughout my system except for the speakers. At a total of 70' for both, I simply could not afford the...

Mark, This is totally presumptuous and self serving on your part IMHO. But a good try and I appreciate the tone of your post. And Dave's point is well taken. A more transparent system will obviously reveal more sonic nuances and subtleties than a less transparent one. I heard more musical...

Agreed but Mark doesn't quite see it that way. With all due respect to Mark, he is the EW Apostle hook, line, and sinker. And Mark is, from what I can tell, a "passive" listener and spends minimal time listening to music critically on a one on one basis. And there is a clear, undisputable...
