Congratulations! Well done. I was at my friends' place this week listening to my old SL3's I sold to him. Phenomenal speaker. Hang on to them! Listening to the CLS II's with fresh panels now and they are sweet. Vintage ML rocks.

I agree - if you can't repanel would avoid them. Any ML of this vintage with original panels will need replacement. I picked up a pair of CLS II with decreased volume out of one panel... Showering did nothing and I replaced the panels. That being said -they are wonderful speakers for 3 K...

Question to VPI owners- my brand new Prime Signature was sounding warbly in the first hour. ( How can Annie Haslam not hold a note??) Turned out there wqs dried up crud in the platter shaft and after a cleaning and lube sounds great. My question is that does the lube just dry out sitting...

Congrats if you got 33 yrs and they still sound ok. I would suggest you listen to a set of speakers from this decade - if no difference, considering your hearing, then nothing lost. But if you get the "wow" difference, watch out. That's when the trouble starts. Good luck!

Thanks, Dave! Indeed I did. Joe and I were listening to the Prime 21 but the Signature seemed to have such mojo to it and looked so much nicer, I decided to go for it. Happy I did. Pictures don't do it justice. It will be a great platform to build on.
