Suncoast Audiophile Society hosting a Zoom conversation with Gayle Sanders/Eikon Audio

I looked at the mini DSP but looking through the manual and the computer work that needs to be done just not my thing. Using the ARC for the 11A was about my speed. In the meantime I will use by basic room correction method 1-2 Cosmos...and voila-flat curve. As always, appreciate all...

Suncoast Audiophile Society hosting a Zoom conversation with Gayle Sanders/Eikon Audio

Thanks for all the great information. I like the idea of getting introduced with the mini DSP as you suggested with the CLS/sub and seems to be my speed. Will keep you posted. Hopefully we will get a chance to hear the Eikon and let the ears decide. I still remember visiting Boston and...

Suncoast Audiophile Society hosting a Zoom conversation with Gayle Sanders/Eikon Audio

25K to be locked into one system is a big ask for me ( and no stats??). It was great to see Gayle and I so enjoy his enthusiasm for looking ahead. The Legacy processor is really intriguing. Thanks for that idea. I scrolled through the manual and it looks identical to the Eikon demo we had. I...

    Prodigy Upgrade

I would recommend giving the newer models a listen. I have 11A's and am now very happy with them (take forever to break in). Replacement panels are expensive and will take awhile. I ordered a set of CLS panels in Oct and have not heard anything. Good luck

Congratulations. "Warmth" is dependent on many variables in your equipment chain. There is a discussion on another thread whether monoblocks vs stereo amps worth it. I would recommend getting comfortable with the sound , especially since you are enjoying it. You can experiment w/...

I have a Nakamichi 480 that I have thought about getting repaired. Sounds like you have a number of these done. Any recommendations ?

    Renaissance 15A Keep Going Quiet

Agree with above comments. Curious as to how your journey came to this combination? Maybe reevaluate what your goal is regarding volume and type of music, etc and then can make choices to make that happen. Could save yourself a lot of headache too.

Our Tidwell Residence Pipe Organ... (A good read - A trip down memory lane)

Utterly amazing. Love the cassette decks. What a unique and fantastic experience to share with your dad. Thanks for sharing! My reel to reel experience was listening to my dad recording something off the radio with his Grundig using microphones. God forbid we kids made noise while that was...

Welcome! Nice set up. Pass highly respected here with many members. My take is that you have highly reflective surfaces and may consider some dampening treatments. Enjoy!

Prebycusis, the Audiophile and the purchase

Thanks for the helpful information. It will be interesting how technology moves on that front, especially from a music standpoint. Sorry about the hearing aid -you must've felt like Ralphie when he stepped on his glasses. Hopefully your wife was understanding.

Prebycusis, the Audiophile and the purchase

Recently my wife has been ( I think jokingly) saying why are you auditioning $,$$$ equipment but you can't hear anything. I know we will lose some frequencies as we age and I plan to have an audiogram eventually. (I register in the 60-65 age group for runs) My question for our wiser members...
