    KLH Model Nine’s Incoming

Thanks, Jon. Yeah, those pumper trucks are amazing! Boggles the mind when you consider the weight of the concrete it’s pumping and the length of the boom. Crazy leverage. And yes, it helps to have a large, flat and open building site. I designed it that way myself for that very reason. We...

    KLH Model Nine’s Incoming

Thanks, Brad. I’ll definitely post some pics once I have everything up and running. I’ll also post some pics of my home construction as it progresses. We’ve just finished pouring concrete in the second story walls and are currently constructing the 2nd story interior walls. Only one more floor...

    KLH Model Nine’s Incoming

Hey, not fair! In my defense, in post #27 of this thread I posted “real” pics of them in my system before sending them off for refurbishment! 😜

    KLH Model Nine’s Incoming

Just a heads up… I received word from David Janszen that my Model Nine refurbishment and upgrade is complete. I sent him a check for the balance and they should ship to me next week. So I’ll be updating this thread with my impressions very soon. My poor dejected ML Summits have been relegated to...

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

I didn’t miss your statement; you just never finished it. Will not deliver what, exactly? Linear bass down to 14 Hz. in a large room? Well, yes, there are a few, like the JTR RS1 and RS2 that are linear to 16 Hz. and probably lower with room gain. But these are $3300 to $4800 each. Most...

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

It’s pretty well accepted among home theater enthusiasts that a ported sub provides more output in the deep bass than a comparable sealed sub. To quote SVS, another popular subwoofer manufacturer: “Simply put, if you want the most room-energizing, gut-punching, floor-trembling cinematic...

Well, it appears O.P. has gotten his subwoofers and hopefully will be very happy with them. Definitely update us on how they sound once you get them dialed in.

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

Robert, between the two I prefer PSA and that’s what I’ll be purchasing. But I think they are both excellent and high quality. The head of PSA is one of the original founders of SVS. That should tell you something. Multiple smaller subs are always better than one big sub if you can swing it...

Anyone build a home theater room and then sell their home?

Depending on how much DIY you can do, it can be more or less expensive. To really understand what’s involved, you might want to peruse the AVS forum, particularly the sub forum on dedicated theater design and construction. Lots of great info. I can’t answer your question on recouping costs...

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

Yeah, the TV3613 is a beast! Two 18” woofers and a 4000 watt amp! And only $750 more than a BF-210! ML simply can’t compete with that level of price/performance for a home theater sub. But you would definitely want a dedicated room for that kind of sub.

Yes, those are the subs. On AVS forum, both Rythmik and PSA have sterling reputations for quality subs and great customer service.

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

Based on what data do you think a BF210 will “blow away” a Rythmik or PSA? The BF210 has an amp which can output 850 watts RMS (1700 watts peak). And that power is divided into two 10” woofers. The two woofers have appx. 158 sq.in. of driver area. A PSA EV1813, for comparison, has a single 18”...

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

Robert, I understand what you’re saying. But honestly, “rattles my walls” is not a good indication of subwoofer performance. That speaks more to the quality of wall construction and possibly lack of decoupling between sub and floor. It could be any specific frequency between 20 and 120 Hz. or...

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

I think you guys recommending the BF 210 are making a poor recommendation for O.P.’s needs. Yes, they blend great with ML’s for music and are quality subs for that purpose. But O.P. stated he wants to place these in a 16’x20’ home theater that is open to the kitchen and listens to 95% movies and...

The new C8 Corvette, I'm in love, again ...........

Dave, that ‘67 Vette is gorgeous! Almost as gorgeous as my ‘55 Jag. I can just imagine how sweet it sounds.

Martin Logan 13A's and a subwoofer pairing question.

Personally, for me, best bang for the buck for a high quality subwoofer, I would check out the subs from PSA and Rythmik. I think you would end up getting higher quality, better sounding subs for less money from either brand than you would get from SVS, REL, or ML. And if 90% or more of your...

Monoblock amps with ML speakers ? Advantage or not?

Brad, I have never thought to try that. Sounds almost sacrilegious. I think you are right about the synergy, though. The synergy between the CJ 17LS2 pre with the Premier 160 amps is just incredible. I’m going to use this pair to power my KLH Model Nine’s when I get them back from their...

Monoblock amps with ML speakers ? Advantage or not?

I think you will see a bigger difference between choice of amp and preamp than between choice of monoblocs vs. stereo amp. And this is even more true with the newer speakers in which the bass drivers are basically internally biamped. With my Summits, the sound is excellent with my Sanders Sound...

And it turns out all that information was false. The police narrative on what actually happened here seems to be changing by the minute.

    Senseless

Ok, you got me. Half was an exaggeration. It’s closer to 1/3. And yes, because of ONE person whose ego will not allow him to admit he lost. Every lawsuit challenging the election was dismissed. Every post-election audit showed he lost. And there hasn’t been any showing of credible evidence of...
