I have purchased both the REW Software, a Mini DSP and a UMIK1 Mic.
I have taken a few room measurements and want to apply the fix/curve to the Mini DSP.
The REW software only outputs correction filters as a Text file and the Mini DSP only imports as XML.
Any ideas? I know there is an answer in...
Thanks again JonFo, I'm not sure if 8 Channel is the best option for me as my whole 2 bedroom house is 750 square feet. I just have enough room for 1 ML Sub and the ReQuest are a bit overwhelming in the Living Room. The Sequels fit a bit better but as we know have a 10" woofer vs. the ReQuest...
Well now I am really starting to wonder. Everyone suggest to ditch the passive crossovers and use an active XO. I get that. What I don't get is, if I go lower in the crossover frequency it will add bass to the panel. I hate to see the side affects of that on the panel. If I go higher, that might...
Sounds good. Speaking of Active Crossover. I'm not sure what frequency to start with. I was thinking of 180 since that is the factory freq. Any pointers?
I received the ReQuest OEM woofer specs from Martin Logan support. Specs are as follows:
Fs 23.03 Hz
Qe 0.259
Qm 4.247
Qts 0.244
Vas 241.18 ltr. ( I converted the Vas from Cubic Liters to Cubic feet and the results are: 8.517, since nothing is close I might have...
Wow Zwick, good catch. I did not even think of that. According to the ML specs, it's 4 ohm impedance. Short of taking the cabinet apart, it's fair to say 4 ohm woofer. Now since I am shopping again, Does the forum think I should match the new woofers specs with the OEM speakers specs? (I did it...
Funny since Martin Logan boast about the crossover and their woofers in all the ads. I do like the idea of active crossover. I'm guessing I will use my Mini DSP. Correct me if I am wrong. Two things do concern me about going active.
1. I will have to switch out the Mark Levinson amp with my...
Since I believe JonFo has a great reputation I am leaning to replacing the OEM woofer included in the ReQuests' with the Dayton Audio DSA315-8 12" Designer Series Aluminum Cone that he suggested in his reply. Can anyone comment on how much different or better the sound is or will be. How bad is...
Wow!!!!! Much information. I am a bit overwhelmed. Everyone answered my question on how panels wear out. I am wondering since my Sequel's have new panels did Martin Logan do anything different with replacement panel building to increase the lifespan.
A funny thing, a few years back (after the...
1st There is no problem with the speakers. That is why I posted here. Super curious as to what makes the sound/go bad. Just with the passage of time they should be shot. But they are not.
2nd I noticed for the first time last night that there is a small LED at the bottom that illuminates when...
What causes panels to wear out? (sorry for the long winded posting but the more info the better I always say)
Back story first, I have a pair of Sequel II’s I purchased in 2017 and replaced the panels in 2019. Then rebuilt the crossovers in 2021. I did both since I was striving for the best...
I too am using a Sunfire amp. I do also have a Mark Levinson No23 and a Bryston 3B. The Mark Levinson works well with my Sequel II's but generates a lot of heat. The Bryston was my backup amp while the Sunfire was getting a tune up. The Bryston works very well just does not have as much punch at...
