I am René P. and my sons name is Kenneth P. I am a happy audiophile, and a huge Martin Logan fan. My son is also a very serious audiophile, and he also likes Martin Logan very much. Whatever we write on this forum, it is either me or my son that writes it, but of course you can recognize us at our names.

We live in Copenhagen in Denmark. This is a nice country, but damn american hifi is expensive over here.

This is the system:

- Marantz SA-11S2 cd/sacd-player
- Pass Labs X1 preamplifier
- GamuT D200 power amplifier
- Martin Logan Summit (I purchased these in 2006)
- Nordost Red Dawn rev.II speaker cable
- Homemade XLR interconnects (between cd-pre and pre-power)
- PS Audio Power Plant Premier power regenerator (see picture at page 2)

It has taken us two years to built up this, very nice sounding system.
Our sound preferences are big sound picture, naturalness and life-like sound.

Welcome aboard!! Glad you found us and I'd like to see a wider photo of your system, which will give us all an idea of what your room is like. Looks very nice, though!

Thank you Tom! We are also glad to be aboard. We will post more pictures soon.

Nice to see a European room posted. These Americans have no taste when it comes to room furnishings & decor (runs for cover...). Actually not 100% true, but mainly true:D If you look you will find some nice ones, though. Still, what do we Europeans know?

Like the Gamut amp stand. In fact, I think Gamut are up there in the SS amp stakes. They have the right idea - if your going to use a bad sounding component, don't use loads of them, just use one really big one - otherwise you simply compound the problem! This is a mild wind up... don't take it too seriously:) But it is what their website effectively states. I have heard loads of Gamuts and have always liked them.

We also share the same speaker cables, which I think work excellently with MLs.

Have you modified that equipment rack? What are the shelves made of?

Welcome to the jungle...

I like your cd I have almost the same one. you asked for comments so here it goes I would move that amp to the side back so it is out of the way of your main rack i know many like everything to be symmetrical but I think access would be easier with it out of the way other than that it looks nice

Thank you for your comment! You are right about the symmetrical placement; I am a big fan of it. I have already tried to place the power amp to the side back of the main rack, but again, it isn't symmetrical enough. ;)
I like your system to! It's a very nice room. I am not into HT, but I'm sure it sounds great.

I will not write any comments about the American taste, but I can see what you mean. ;)

Both the power amp stand and the main rack are DIY. The shelves and the amp stand are made of concrete. Heavy and solid. The rack is filled with dried sand.

I am also very pleased with my GamuT amp, but I wouldn't say no to a pair of Pass Labs XA200.5 monsters. :D

Looks great!!!

I love the look of a clean 2 ch. And I am certainly impressed with the amp stand and DIY rack. I am working on one right now myself.

Welcome to the madness!

Doug - out

who is the ****ed off person in the backround

I suspect that's his son and listening partner Kenneth that he mentioned in his first post. He doesn't look pis*ed off to me, he looks like he's just in the room listening to music. Hell, he's out of the depth of field, so I couldn't really venture a guess as to his state of mind.

Great looking system and setup Rene!

Do I see Jack-o-lanturns in that last system shot? Surely you don't observe Halloween in Denmark - do you?

You are right about that, it is my son on the picture, and he isn't pis*ed off. He just listens seriously to the music. :music:

And about Halloween; we don't celebrate Halloween as you do in US, but we just use the Jack-o-lantern as a symbol of Halloween. Most because of the kids. ;)

Justin that comment could get you banned:D TOM!!!:D
But we Americans do make some Great Friecking Speakers.:music:

Rene,
Very nice looking system.
Welcome to the madness and the home of poorly furnished and decorated dwellings.

Good for both of you. Do you have similar taste in music?

I was just talking in a different thread about the days when my kids would enjoy listening sessions with me when they were younger. We enjoyed a lot of great music over the years and introduced one another to a wide variety. I have my daughter to thank for introducing me to Ani Difranco for instance. They have since both flown the proverbial coop, but we always make time for a listening session when they are in town.
